    Database Developer

    Role Overview:

    Provides support to top management on significant Application Development matters, often requiring coordination between organizations. Contribute on the design of complex major systems and their subsystems utilizing a thorough understanding of available technology, tools and existing designs. Provides comprehensive consultation to business unit and IT management and staff at the highest technical level on all phases of application programming and processes for diverse development platforms, computing environments (e.g., host based, distributed systems, client server, software, hardware, technologies and tools, etc.). Works closely with client and IT management and staff to identify application development solutions, new or modified programs, reuse of existing code through the use of program development software alternatives, or integration of purchased solutions or a combination of the available alternatives. Researches and evaluates alternative solutions and recommends the most efficient and cost effective application programming solution. May code new or modified programs, reuse existing code through the use of program development software alternatives and/or integrates purchased solutions. Documents, tests, implements and provides on-going support for the applications. Focuses on providing thought leadership and technical expertise across multiple disciplines. Recognized internally as “the go-to person” for the most complex Application Development assignments.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist with monitoring and maintaining ETL processes.
    • Help troubleshoot SQL Server issues.
    • Support documentation of requirements and technical solutions.
    • Contribute to T-SQL code changes under supervision.
    • Help with data mapping and documentation tasks.
    • Participate in regular releases and monitor data processing batches.
    • Suggest improvements as you learn.

    Essential Skills:

    • 2+ years of experience with SQL Server or similar databases.
    • Clear understanding of ETL processes and SQL (SELECT, JOIN, WHERE, etc.).
    • Willingness to learn ETL concepts and tools.
    • Good problem-solving and communication skills.
    • Eagerness to learn and grow in a team environment.

    Desirable:

    • Exposure to Agile development methodologies.
    • Familiarity with any programming language (e.g., C#, VB.net, Python).
    • Experience with source control tools (e.g., Git).
    • Interest in reporting tools (e.g., SSRS).

    Senior Database Developer

    As a Senior Database Developer, you will play a key role in developing, maintaining, and optimizing our data integration solutions. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to technical design, and ensure the reliability and efficiency of our ETL processes and SQL Server environments.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Monitor, maintain, and enhance core ETL processes.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve SQL Server-related issues.
    • Collaborate with senior developers and business stakeholders to document requirements and design solutions.
    • Develop and optimize SSIS packages and T-SQL code, including stored procedures, views, and functions.
    • Model and document SQL data mapping solutions, working with business and other technical teams to decide on the best solution.
    • Support regular releases and monitor data processing batches.
    • Proactively suggest improvements to code, tools, and processes.

    Essential Skills:

    • 4+ years of experience developing and supporting SQL Server solutions.
    • Strong proficiency in T-SQL and relational database concepts.
    • Experience with ETL processes, preferably using SSIS.
    • Knowledge of OLAP and OLTP environments.
    • Solid problem-solving skills and ability to reverse engineer code.
    • Experience working in Agile development teams.

    Desirable:

    • Experience with C#, VB.net, or other programming languages.
    • Familiarity with Python / PySpark.
    • Experience with Git or other source control tools.
    • Knowledge of SQL Change Automation or Liquibase is a plus.
    • Exposure to continuous integration/delivery practices (CI/CD).
    • Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) or similar tools.
    • Experience with SAFe or other Agile frameworks.

    Agile Product Owner - International Organisation Health

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure alignment between business strategy and product development efforts
    • Collaborates with Product Manager and Portfolio Managers to ensure backlogs align to business and product roadmaps
    • Collaborates with system architecture experts and other teams to provide consultancy on their product functionality.
    • Has final decision-making authority on acceptance criteria for product functions
    • Maintains and refines the inflow of work to the team (product backlog)
    • ​Responsible for decomposing features into user stories and acceptance criteria
    • Ensures stories clearly communicate customer/stakeholder needs to the Scrum team; work with team to clarify stories as necessary
    • Sets and communicates the team’s scope for the current iteration
    • Define business objectives and assesses business value to prioritizes all stories and ensure work focuses on those with maximum value and aligns with strategy
    • Collaborate with customers and relevant teams to ensure the customer voice is embedded at all stages of the product delivery cycle
    • Partners with the Product Managers by contributing to story mapping and brainstorming activities to prepare and decompose work for teams
    • Ensures the outcome and value is clearly defined and communicated to support technical assessments of solutions with the development team
    • Works closely with cross-functional teams to validate product hypotheses and make data-informed decisions
    • Must be aware of other work being completed within the Release Train so that they can help teams proactively manage risks and dependencies and propose optimal solutions
    • Understands and supports inter-team dependencies and escalates prioritization issues when necessary
    • Clearly communicates release timing and delivery dates to Product Management, Portfolio Leads and Key Stakeholders

    Required skills and experience:

    • Bachelor’s Degree required
    • Strong English language skills required
    • Experience working in JIRA tool or an equivalent (preferred)
    • Experience with agile methodology and agile delivery experience required
    • Work experience in agile cross-functional environments with high technical ability is required
    • Experience within healthcare preferred
    • Experience working with technology integrations, financial services, databases and backend technologies is preferred
    • Both technically deep and business savvy enough to interface with cross-functional partners
    • Proven ability to develop strong working relationships and establish a high level of credibility across functional and lines of business
    • High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
    • Demonstrates strong decision-making skills and problem-solving techniques
    • Demonstrates ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast paced and changing environment
    • Strong adaptive capability; ability to approach problems pragmatically and creatively in the phase of changing circumstances, resources and direction
