Qualifications

• Master's/Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Studies or related discipline.
• Registration with National Environment Management Authority as a Lead Expert
• Registration with DOSHS is preferred but not mandatory Membership in Professional Societies
  Must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
• Use of computers and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and MS Project.
• Excellent Public Consultation Skills.
• Excellent people skills including interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks including planning field tasks, producing comprehensive reports, preparing bids and proposals as well as supporting in business development activities.

Role Profile

• The Environmentalist will support the organization in providing environmental services including conducting Environmental Impact Assessments and Environmental Audits. The candidate will also have experience in Environmental Health & Safety monitoring on project sites. Registration with NEMA is a mandatory requirement for this role

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from an accredited institution
• Professional Membership with a relevant body will be an added advantage.
• At least 5 years of experience as a Sociologist on infrastructure development projects
• Practical experience in carrying out Social Impact Assessments/Social Surveys & audits, monitoring/supervision of social safeguards during construction phase, Resettlement Action Planning (RAP) & reporting. Knowledge of IFC performance standards, World Bank & AfDB social safeguard policies.
• Excellent people skills including interpersonal, organizational, communication & time management skills. Ability to work independently & take ownership of tasks including planning field tasks, drafting comprehensive reports, preparing bids & proposals as well as supporting in business development activities.

• The Sociologist will support the organization in the implementation and monitoring of social safeguards on infrastructural projects. The successful candidate should be familiar with the IFC performance standards, World Bank Social Safeguards and AfDB safeguards policies
