Accountant at Eleven Degrees Consulting

The Accoutant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial transactions across key platforms, including Shopify, QuickBooks, and payment gateways such as Pesapal. This role involves daily reconciliations, monthly audits, and timely resolution of discrepancies to support financial transparency and informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily reconciliation of Shopify transactions with QuickBooks records to ensure data consistency and completeness.
• Conduct monthly audits of financial integrations between systems to identify and correct discrepancies.
• Troubleshoot discrepancies between Shopify and QuickBooks promptly and escalate complex issues as necessary.
• Prepare monthly financial summaries and reports for management, highlighting key trends and variances.
• Verify daily Pesapal transactions for accuracy and completeness, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded.
• Liaise with the technical team to investigate and resolve issues affecting financial data flows or system integrations.
• Report suspicious or irregular activities immediately in line with internal controls and compliance policies.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of all payment gateway transactions to ensure financial accuracy.
• Execute monthly reconciliation of the general ledger in QuickBooks, ensuring all entries are properly accounted for and supported by documentation.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional certification (e.g. CPA, ACCA) is an advantage.
• Strong experience with financial reconciliation processes and accounting software, particularly QuickBooks and Shopify integrations.
• Solid understanding of payment gateway operations, e.g. Pesapal, Stripe, PayPal, etc.
• High attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
• Strong problem-solving ability and capacity to work under tight deadlines.
• Good communication and collaboration skills, especially for liaising with technical teams.
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
