    Airport Manager, Wajir (1 Position)

    REF: OPS/AM/WJR/04/JUNE 2024

    Job Purpose:

    • The job holder is responsible for providing leadership and overseeing implementation of Airport operational services to achieve business growth, seamless customer experience, safety and security of passengers and airstrip users in line with national legislations and International civil aviation Standards & Recommended Practices.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Coordinating airport operations in collaboration with airport stakeholders, ministries, departments and agencies to enhance customer experience;
    • Driving the implementation of the airport master plan in consultation with stakeholders;
    • Coordinating emergency and crisis response at the airport;
    • Implementing airport security plan; 
    • Implementing safety management system at the airport;
    • Overseeing seamless passenger and airport user’s facilitation to enhance customer experience;
    • Overseeing compliance of rescue & firefighting capacity at the airport commensurate to the aerodrome level of protection;
    • Promoting safe aircraft operations at the airport;
    • Coordinating compliance with contractual Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and service delivery standards of third party service providers;
    • Supervising contract implementation for goods and services; and
    • Implementing Quality Management System at the airport.

    Minimum Job Requirements & Qualifications: 

    • Bachelor’s Degree in a Business related field or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution of higher learning
    • Minimum of five (5) years working experience two (2) of which must be in a supervisory position
    • Training in Airport Operations

    Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 requirements

    Shortlisted candidates will be required to have a valid;

    • Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA);
    • Police Clearance Certificate from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations;
    • Self-Declaration Form stamped by the Ethics & Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC);
    • Certificate of Clearance from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB); and
    • Clearance Certificate from a recognized Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
