Assistant ICT Officer 1I (Software Development)- (Grade 8) at Taita Taveta University (TTU)

​​​REQUIREMENTS

• Must possess Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Technology, Information Technology from a recognized institution or its equivalent, and qualifications in any one of the following areas:
• Knowledge of at least one programing languages (C#, C++, VB, Java);
• Knowledge of at least one relational database management system (MSSQL, MySQL, Oracle);
• Knowledge of mobile app development platform (Android, iOS, Windows Mobile, Blackberry);
• Knowledge of at least two modern web technologies (CSS, HTML, Java, PHP, ASP.NET).
• Knowledge of LAN and WAN topologies and architecture;
• Knowledge of network equipment i.e. switches, routers, hubs, and associated equipment;
• Knowledge of PC hardware and components including processors, mother boards, accessories, cards and peripherals.
• Knowledge of Active Directory Services;
• Knowledge of Client-Server environment; Knowledge of principles and techniques of malware management.
• Ability to analyze, resolve and communicate customer complaints and concerns.
• Ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel.
• Valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
• Exemplary work performance.

OR

• Must have a Higher National Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Technology,
• Information Technology from a recognized institution or its equivalent.
• Three (3) years’ experience as ICT Technician or comparable position and qualifications in any one of the following areas:
• Knowledge of at least one programing languages (C#, C++, VB, Java);
• Knowledge of at least one relational database management system (MSSQL, MySQL, Oracle);
• Knowledge of mobile app development platform (Android, iOS, Windows Mobile, Blackberry);
• Knowledge of at least two modern web technologies (CSS, HTML, Java, PHP, ASP.NET)
• Working knowledge of LAN and WAN topologies and architecture;
• Experience in working with network equipment i.e. switches, routers, hubs, and associated equipment;
• Working knowledge PC hardware and components including processors, mother boards, accessories, cards and peripherals.
• Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA or MCITP) or its equivalent;
• Working experience in Active Directory Services installation, management and troubleshooting;
• Working  experience  in  Client-Server     environment     management, installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting;
• Knowledge of principles and techniques of malware (virus, worm, Trojan horse, exploit) management;
• Working knowledge in administration of modern operating systems, server and client software;
• Ability to analyze, resolve and communicate customer complaints and concerns;
• Ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel
• Valid Certificate of Good Conduct
