The Barista will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee, beverages, and light food items while delivering excellent customer service in a warm and welcoming deli environment. The role requires efficiency, attention to detail, and a passion for creating a memorable customer experience.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare and serve coffee, tea, smoothies, juices, and other deli beverages to company standards.
Assist in the preparation and presentation of deli food items (e.g., sandwiches, salads, pastries).
Operate and maintain coffee machines, grinders, blenders, and other deli equipment.
Ensure cleanliness and hygiene of the deli counter, tables, and customer areas at all times.
Manage stock rotation of beverages and deli ingredients, checking freshness and quality.
Handle cash, process payments, and maintain accurate sales records.
Provide friendly, prompt, and professional service, engaging customers and answering product-related questions.
Follow food safety, hygiene, and occupational health & safety guidelines.
Support deli promotions, upselling, and loyalty programs.
Perform opening and closing duties as per deli procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
Diploma/Certificate in Food & Beverage, Hospitality, or related field (preferred).
Proven experience as a Barista or in a café/deli environment.
Strong knowledge of coffee brewing methods, beverage preparation, and latte art (added advantage).
Customer-focused with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Basic math and cash-handling skills.
High standards of personal hygiene, grooming, and presentation.
