    Construction Project Manager

    Job Overview

    • We are looking for a qualified Project Manager with extensive experience in constructing large and complex infrastructure, offices and other Commercial Projects .

    The role of Project Manager is to

    • plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict quality standards, deadlines and within
    • budget while maintaining high levels of safety and customer satisfaction. This includes acquiring
    • resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and subcontractors in order to deliver
    • projects according to plan and budget.


    Responsibilities of Project Manager

    •  Define the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle in
    • coordination with the Design Team.
    •  Proactively manage all Project activities on allocated projects to meet project
    • requirements and specification against the agreed Project Program and lead other
    • members of the construction/project team to promote a positive environmental health
    • and safety culture within costs, quality and time
    •  Responsible for delivering the project and commissioning phases of the projects and associated documentation to meet Safety, Quality, Work Program and Cost Objectives, by implementing the project strategy and using the defined arrangements within the Project Delivery Process, Execution and Quality Plans.
    •  To see that all drawings and specifications are examined, prior to beginning construction,
    • for design deficiencies, impractical details and possible code violations, and through
    • meetings with the Architect/ Design Team, bring them to a resolution
    •  To see that the Project Schedule, incorporating dates and times for Owner decisions, availability of design information, procurement of materials and subcontracts, lead times for fabrication, and field installation, is established and maintained.
    •  Manages the design and construction teams including architects, general contractors, engineers, construction managers and other consultants to ensure adherence to project budget and schedule, cost containment and quality control. Resolves related problems and concerns.
    •  To organize and manage project resources to deliver the project and provide technical advice as required during the Development, Design and Project Phases.
    •  To ensure that risk assessments and safe systems of work submitted by contractors meet the requirements of internal Management Systems.
    •  To undertake accurate reporting of all activities and issues which affect the progress, quality and which provide a reflection of the contractor’s performance against the agreed contract program.
    •  To aid the early identification and notification of contract variances for process through the project management team and that they are fully and properly recorded.
    •  Review the project proposal, budget, targets, key performance indicators and ensure that the planning is realistic (Measurable, Reportable & Verifiable), both in terms of budget and implementation
    •  Prepare and actively participate in the project hand over process and ensure that all documental evidence is provided to the Development Director against the Project Handover Check sheet.
    •  For ensuring delivery of agreed project performance targets for the defined Projects.
    •  To ensure weekly and monthly reports are delivered timely. Requirements pertinent to insurance, safety regulations are met
    •  Supervise the works of the Main Contractor, subcontractors and suppliers and chair site meetings to follow up on plans for the works, design challenges, logistics and payments
    •  Conduct project “lessons learned” meetings and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements


    Qualifications

    •  Bachelor’s Degree required (preferably in building technology, civil/structural
    • engineering, project management, construction management)
    •  Post-graduate degree and Quantity Surveyor background is a plus
    •  Minimum of 10yrs work experience in construction industry.
    •  Strong organizational skills


    Key Skills and Knowledge
     In-depth knowledge of construction industry customs, practices and site experience.
     A thorough understanding of construction technology, terminology and building
    processes.
     Detailed knowledge and awareness of project and program management and
    interpreting objectives.
     Proficient in using AutoCAD drawings.
     Strong negotiating skills
     Outstanding written and oral communication skills
