    Deposit Mobilization Manager

    The position is a permanent role and is based in Accra.
    Under the supervision of the Chief Business Development Officer, the Deposit Mobilization Manager will have the following objectives: 

    • Facilitate and develop the Deposit mobilization and Portfolio across all Segments while optimizing the cost of funds to enable the Institution to maintain a competitive lending rates and a profitable business-model
    • Define the mix of Deposit Products / Packages adapted to the various segments’ needs with the objective of acquisition, cross-selling & up-selling and retention. 
    • Propose and implements the necessary changes to the range of products of Advans Ghana or rolls out new products in line with customer expectations, market developments and competitors' offers.
    • In collaboration with the Sales & Distribution and Marketing teams, the Deposit Mobilization Manager contributes to the sales actions plan by defining the equipment objectives for the various segments and the sales and marketing strategies adapted to achieve the Institution objectives. 
    • Supports and accompanies the dedicated sales force as well as the sales animation teams to implement good sales practices 


    • Define and implement the Deposit Mobilization Strategy 
    • In collaboration with the CBDO, the CSDO and EXCO, define and then implement the Deposit Strategy according to segment needs in order to increase the Advans’ Deposit Portfolio 
    • Ensure a sustainable Cost of Funds for the Institution by optimising the weight of each product type with the portfolio: CASA, TD and Savings Plan
    • Work closely with Advans Ghana and Group Teams to implement the Products in the CBS and in the various channels where relevant 
    • Propose improvements to the Deposit Policy based on market developments and Group Vision
    • Develop a plan to adapt the procedures and sales technics for deposits mobilization 
    • Market analysis and competitive intelligence 
    • In collaboration with the Marketing / Market Intelligence team, s/he regularly monitors the market – competitor offers, new entrants, marketing and digital campaigns, etc.
    • If s/he deems it necessary, the Deposit Mobilization Manager can rely on external market studies to supplement his knowledge and market intelligence. S/He will participate in the definition of the brief for the external agency, with the Marketing / Market Intelligence team.
    • S/He is in charge of sharing knowledge with the Sales and Marketing teams and with management.
    • S/he ensures that the key elements of monitoring are well integrated into sales pitches and all communications that will enable Sales teams to adjust their approaches to customers.

    Customer Knowledge 

    • S/he is responsible for the quality and relevance of the qualitative and quantitative analyses of clients (Pure depositors and Borrowers), in collaboration with the Marketing and Reporting teams.
    • S/he ensures that all decisions to create or develop Advans product are based on customer studies to validate the needs, expectations and behaviour of customers.
    • S/he creates and writes the briefs allowing to frame the objectives, the method, the sampling, and the questionnaires of studies on clients depending on their segments if required.
    • S/he then coordinates the carrying out of these surveys (or carries them out when relevant) and produces the summaries by formulating the recommendations necessary for decision-making, in collaboration with the Marketing / Market Intelligence team
    • S/he contributes to the creation of recurring surveys such as satisfaction surveys, exit surveys, etc. in order to ensure that questions relating to the customer experience will be taken into account - in collaboration with the Customers Relationship Center and the others internal stakeholders. S/he then ensures that the insights from these surveys are taken into account to improve the customer experience.
    • He sets up the dashboard and reporting necessary to manage commercial performance of the deposit products per segment - acquisition, multi-equipment, retention and reports on this performance on a regular basis to the EXCO and to the Sales & Distributions and Business Development Departments.

    Management of Products / Packages:

    • When developing a new product or upgrading an existing product / Package, the Deposit Mobilization Manager is in charge of the entire development process: targeting, eligibility conditions, distribution channels, pricing, procedures, tools, training support, product sheets and commercial sheets, Marketing materials (flyers, posters, etc…), in accordance with Group procedures
    • S/he contributes to the development of commercial objectives for his/her Products / Packages per segment
    • S/he supports the Sales teams in defining the right acquisition, retention and multi-equipment strategies per segment – in particular by being present on a regular basis in the field, in the agency, with sales representatives and customers
    • S/He will provide support to the network as part of the launch (3 to 6 months depending on the product) in collaboration with the commercial animation (which takes over the lead on the commercial animation completely after this period) as well as the Digital Banking team if necessary.
    • S/he takes into account the analysis of campaign results in order to enrich customer knowledge.
    • S/he is responsible for reporting, monitoring the main indicators of commercial performance and profitability of the products, by segment and by distribution channel as well as a strong monitoring and optimization of the Cost of Deposits
    • If necessary, the Deposit Mobilization Manager will prepare the application file for approval by the Bank of Ghana, in collaboration with the Legal and Risk teams
    • S/he contributes to the development of training materials on subjects and themes related to his/her segment while contributing to the identification of additional training needs.
    • S/he may be called upon to facilitate the initial and continuous training of sales staff – if necessary.
    • Support the Call Centre in the management of customer complaints and claims in his segment.


    You have a:

    • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent. 
    • Minimum five (5) years’ global experience in the Financial Industry in Ghana or Western Africa.
    • Recognized Business achievements. 
    • Proven records in Deposit Mobilization in Financial Institution in terms of achievements and responsibilities.
    • Fluency in French is an added advantage.
