Job Specifications
- This is the entry and training grade for this cadre for Bachelor’s Degree holders. An officer at this level will work under the supervision of a designated officer.
Duties and responsibilities will entail:
- Undertaking legal research;
- Attending court;
- Preparing documents such as legal opinions and legal pleadings;
- Ensuring proper filing of legal documents;
- Assisting in ensuring legal and regulatory compliance;
- Assisting in the compilation of the national values and the principles of governance report;
- Assisting in ensuring the proper storage of key legal documents in line with the department’s custodial function;
- Assisting in drafting of contracts, leases and other documents; and
- Keying into the Case Management System.
Job specifications
For appointment to this grade a candidate must have:
- Bachelor of Laws Degree from a university recognized in Kenya;
- Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Studies from the Council of Legal Education(CLE); or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
- Admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya;
- Member of the Law Society of Kenya; and
- Proficiency in computer applications.

Successful candidates MUST satisfy the requirements of Leadership and Integrity set out in Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 and shall be required to present the following documents before the offer letter.
- Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (TCC);
- Certificate of clearance from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB);
- Certificate of good conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI);
- Dully filled and stamped Self-Declaration/Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC); and
- Clearance certificate from approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
