    Job Summary

    Reporting to the General Manager, Corporate Services, the role manages talent attraction, acquisition, retention, employee engagement and performance, and compliance to support organizational growth.

    Job Description

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement HR strategy, structures and policies that are aligned to corporate strategy.
    • Formulate the code of conduct, and ensure compliance with relevant employment laws.
    • Manage recruitment, onboarding, and induction processes.
    • Oversee employee welfare programs and insurance schemes.
    • Lead union negotiations, implement CBAs, and maintain industrial harmony.
    • Develop performance management systems and facilitate employee development.
    • Maintain HR records, manage discipline, disputes, and employee separation.
    • Implement equitable remuneration structures and ISO standards.
    • Prepare departmental reports, budgets, and procurement plans.
    • Advise management on HR matters and ensure compliance with gender, disability, HIV, and cohesion directives.
    • Oversee PPE requirements and workplace safety compliance.

    Person Specifications

    For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: -

    • Experience of at least twelve (12) years in a relevant field, four (4) of which should be at middle management level in a large organization or equivalent.
    • Master’s degree in Human Resource Management or related field from a recognized institution.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or related field from a recognized institution.
    • Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
    • Certified Human Resource Professional  CHRP (k) or equivalent from a recognized institution
    • Membership of the Institute of the Institute of Human Resource Management in good standing.
    • Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the constitution
