    Monitoring, Evaluation, Assessment, and Learning (MEAL) Consultant

    The MEAL Consultant will support the organization in strengthening its monitoring, evaluation, assessment, and learning mechanisms. The consultant will provide independent, data-driven insights to improve program effectiveness, inform decision-making, and ensure adaptive learning across the organization’s disability-inclusive SRHR initiatives.

    Scope of Work

    The MEAL Consultant will be responsible for the following key tasks on a quarterly basis:

    Monitoring and Evaluation

    • Review and refine the internal MEAL framework for disability-inclusive SRHR programs.
    • Assess program activities, outputs, and outcomes against established indicators.
    • Conduct field visits and stakeholder consultations (as needed) to evaluate program effectiveness.
    • Analyze data collection systems and recommend improvements.

    Assessment and Reporting

    • Conduct quarterly evaluations to assess program impact and identify gaps.
    • Compile and analyze data to provide evidence-based recommendations.
    • Develop quarterly MEAL reports for internal and external stakeholders.

    Learning and Adaptation

    • Facilitate quarterly learning sessions with staff to review program progress, successes, and challenges.
    • Document best practices, lessons learned, and case studies to inform future programming.
    • Ensure the integration of disability-inclusive approaches in all MEAL activities.

    Capacity Building and Stakeholder Engagement

    • Provide periodic training and guidance to staff on MEAL tools and methodologies.
    • Engage with partners, beneficiaries, and stakeholders to collect feedback and enhance participatory approaches.
    • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and adaptive learning across the organization.

    Deliverables

    • Quarterly MEAL reports with key findings, insights, and recommendations.
    • Updated indicator tracking matrix and program impact data.
    • Documentation of lessons learned and best practices.
    • Capacity-building sessions for staff on MEAL processes.
    • Recommendations for enhancing data collection, analysis, and reporting.

    Consultancy Requirements

    • Advanced degree in Monitoring & Evaluation, Public Health, Social Sciences, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in MEAL roles within the non-profit or development sector, preferably in SRHR or Disability Inclusion.
    • Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing MEAL frameworks.
    • Strong analytical skills, including experience with data visualization and statistical software (e.g., SPSS, Excel, Power BI).
    • Proven track record in facilitating learning sessions and capacity-building initiatives.
    • Ability to work independently while collaborating with diverse teams.
