The Project Coordination consultant will work under the overall guidance of the Director of External Relations, Strategy, Knowledge and Innovation Division and is responsible for the following duties: -Internal coordination of project implementation
Lead coordination of the project's implementation across relevant Divisions, teams and activities for better coherence and strategic linkages
Ensure regular and consistent consultation and collaboration within UN-Habitat on the QoL project including through facilitating an internal coordination mechanism for the implementation of the QoL
Prepare and lead briefings and updates for senior management and other teams within UN- Habitat on the QoL project 2-Partnerships
Manage engagement with relevant external partners and knowledge institutions (academia); partners and cities for uptake and advocacy on the QoL
Promote and organise specific events and initiatives with relevant partners and actors on the QoL to globalise its outreach and dissemination 3- Programme delivery
Prepare and manage the delivery of a work programme for UN-Habitat headquarters, specifically, the Knowledge and Innovation Branch, for the QoL project
Coordinate the preparation of meetings and events led by the UN-Habitat headquarters related to the QoL 4- Research and policy analysis
Lead the substantive inputs and deliverables of the Knowledge and Innovation Branch to the QoL
Develop and lead relevant research for the Qol and sustainable urbanization broadly
Coordinate substantive preparations and inputs for relevant national, regional and global events 5- Member State and intergovernmental processes
Coordinate engagement with member States and intergovernmental processes on the QoL for strategic uptake
Track and respond to member States needs, proposals and requests related to the QoL towards global uptake and dissemination
Qualifications/special skills
Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in , business administration, public administration, economics, urban planning, social science or a related field is required.
A first university degree with a combination of two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree
A minimum of two (2) years of working experience in the areas related to sustainable development, governance and economic development projects and policies, project or programme management and/or development is required.
