Sales Assistant- Recyclables at TakaTaka Solutions

Salary Range: - Ksh 25,000 to Ksh 30,000.

About the Role.

• The Sales Assistant – Recyclables will help TakaTaka Solutions stay informed about prices, buyers, and trends in the recyclables market (carton, aluminum, PET bottles, tin cans, etc.). This role involves collecting, analyzing, and organizing market information to ensure the company secures the best possible prices for its materials — including slow-moving ones — from both the main facility and on-site locations (e.g., malls).

Key Responsibilities
Market Research:

• Gather and analyze information about prices and buyers for different recyclable materials.
• Monitor competitors and market trends to identify opportunities and risks.
• Regularly compare and report on market prices to secure favorable deals.

Database Management:

• Develop, maintain, and update a buyer-price-material database.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of data for easy reference and decision-making.

Reporting & Insights:

• Prepare periodic reports on price trends, buyer performance, and market shifts.
• Share findings with the team to guide decision-making.

Continuous Improvement:

• Identify risks such as sudden price fluctuations or buyer issues.
• Recommend ways to improve information gathering and sharing processes.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Data Accuracy Rate: Percentage of database entries that are up-to-date and verified monthly.
• Price Opportunity Captured: Instances where research directly leads to above-average prices.
• Market Update Frequency: Number of meaningful database updates per week/month.

Qualifications

• Diploma/degree in Sales, environmental science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 1-2 years in selling recyclables.

Understanding of:

• Logistics, sorting, baling, storage, and sales operations.
• Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) and how it relates to productivity.
• Interest in market research, recycling, or data collection.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and adapt within the recycling industry.
