Senior Geologist (Mineral Engineer) at Tharaka Nithi County Assembly

Requirements for appointment:

•  Be a Kenyan citizen;
•  Bachelor degree in any of the following fields: Geology, Engineering Geology, Physics, Geophysics, Geoscience, Environmental Geology or equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution
•  Be a Kenyan citizen;
•  Registered with Geologists Registration Board of Kenya and a member of Geological Society of Kenya
•  Computer Literate

Duties and responsibilities

• The Senior Geologist (Mineral Engineer) shall be responsible to the employer and the supervisor for the following:
•  Overseeing and reviewing geological exploration for geo – energy resources
•  Planning and budgeting of geological exploration activities in the County
•  Monitoring and evaluating geological exploration activities in the County
•  Coordinating development of geo- energy resources contract specifications
•  Overseeing conformity with legislation and statutes to geological exploration activities in geo-energy resources
•  Coordinating preparation of environmental Impact assessment reports for all geo-sector projects
•  Any other duty that may be assigned by the supervisor.
