    Senior Officer Organizational Development

    Brief Description 
    Detailed Description    
        
    An officer at this level you will work with the guidance of a Principal Officer. The duties and responsibilities for this position shall entail: -

    • Develop organizational design and development strategies based on the Authority’s goals,
    • Bridge the gap between theory and practice by overseeing the implementation of on-the-job learning through development of programmes on mentoring, coaching, internship and industrial attachment,
    • Inculcate programmes aimed at encouraging a learning culture through knowledge sharing, team building, systems improvement and change management,
    • Undertaking productivity research and design productivity improvement and management tools,
    • Coordinate the implementation of performance-contracting objectives of the Authority relating to organization development,
    • Coordinate the development of the Authority’s (HRA department) work plans emanating from Performance Contracting and the Strategic Plan,
    • Coordinate the implementation of a reward mechanism that drives a culture of productivity and continuous improvement in the Authority,
    • Implement performance and productivity strategy and specific departmental assignments,
    • Collect and collate data on various performance and productivity indicators from   all departments to facilitate tracking and reporting,
    • Interpret data to identify and implement clear performance indicator for tracking and rewarding performance,
    • Implementing and evaluating productivity improvement programmes; analyzing statistical data on productivity management,
    • Identify performance measures and indices in liaison with all departments /functional area,
    • Undertake periodic analysis of performance and productivity data for the Authority and make appropriate recommendations to the Management,
    • Analyze the impact of performance and productivity rewards in the Authority and make recommendations on their impact and sustainability,
    • Maintain an up-to-date performance and productivity data base to ensure ease of retrieval Confidentiality and Consistency in Decision making,
    • Represent the department in Strategic Plan development/review and participate in the preparation of corporate workplan and compilation of targets,
    • Implement the functional risk management framework,
    • Analyze quarterly/bi-annual/annual performance contracting reports with respect to the Authority’s targets to ensure their timely achievement,
    •  Ensure compliance with relevant statutory requirements, government circulars and Authorities policies.

    Job Requirements        

     For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: -

    •  Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: - Social Sciences, Human Resource Management, Human Resource Development, economics, statistics, public administration or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution,
    • National Higher Diploma in human resource from the institute of Human Resource,
    • Attained at least six (6) years’ relevant work experience, three (3) of which should have been at the grade of Human Resource Management Officer I or in a comparable position,
    • Relevant technical and professional certification from a recognized institution,
    • Must be a Registered member of the IHRM and in good standing
    • Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results,
    •  Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
