Slitter Machine Operator at Summit Recruitment and Search

This role is essential to ensuring high-quality conversion of raw materials into finished products that meet precise customer specifications. The selected candidate will operate slitting machines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with a strong commitment to safety, accuracy, and efficiency. Key Responsibilities

• Review slitting orders for specifications, including width, length, number of cheeses, and any special requirements before setup.
• Verify correct materials are delivered and inspect for splices, defects, or special notes prior to production.
• Operate the slitting machine according to order requirements, monitoring tension settings and parameters based on product construction.
• Prepare and wrap slit materials, ensuring all related documentation is accurately completed and inspect slit material for defects ensuring correct sizing and materials are used.
• Report quality issues, unsafe acts, or incidents immediately to the shift leader or SHE representative.
• Assist with machine maintenance when required and follow all safety procedures, including wearing the necessary protective equipment.

Requirements

• Relevant Certificate in a related field.
• Good understanding of production processes.
• Strong numerical skills & technical skills,
• Flexible & team player.
• Able to work under minimal supervision.
