    Audiovisual Editor and Videographer

    Job Purpose:

    • Responsible for planning, filming, editing, and producing high-quality audio-visual content that enhances the organization’s communication, storytelling, and brand visibility. The role ensures professional production of videos, photography, and multimedia materials that support marketing, corporate communication, and digital engagement objectives. The role requires strong creative and technical skill set, professionalism, effective communication, and ability to work collaboratively.

    Job Responsibilities/ Accountabilities:

    • Videography, photography coverage on DSLR’s and camcorders.
    • Editing features and documentaries and social media content on video and audio.
    • Manage in-house lighting setup for all video shoots and studio productions.
    • XLR cable set up for indoor and outdoor shooting.
    • Video and audio conversion for YouTube, TV, and social media.
    • Video editing, including cutting, sequencing, colour correction, and audio enhancement.
    • Create and edit photo slideshows for presentations, events, and digital content.
    • Manage the inhouse audiovisual inventory.
    • Proper handling of audiovisual and photography materials and equipment and accessories.

    Job Responsibilities/ Accountabilities:

    • Production
    • Plan and set up video shoots, including conducting interviews and capturing footage and photography on DSLR’s and camcorders
    • Manage in-house lighting setup for all video shoots and studio productions
    • Operate and maintain video and audio equipment, both in-studio and on location.
    • XLR cable set up for indoor and outdoor shooting.
    • Ensure high-quality audio, video recording and photography during shoots.
    • Editing & Postproduction
    • Editing features and documentaries and social media content on video and audio.
    • Video and audio conversion for YouTube, TV, and social media
    • Video editing, including cutting, sequencing, colour correction, audio synchronization and other visual aspects of the footage
    • Create and edit photo slideshows for presentations, events, and digital content.
    • Collaboration and Audio-visual management:
    • Collaborate with multifunctional teams and other stakeholders to develop concepts and ensure the final output meets requirements
    • Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
    • Organize and manage the in-house audiovisual inventory and project files.
    • Proper handling of audiovisual and photography materials and equipment and accessories.
    • Quality assurance:
    • Ensure all video content & photography aligns with brand guidelines and brand voice
    • Produce final content according to technical specifications for various platforms eg. social media, web, or broadcast.
    • Always stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and new technologies in video production editing and photography.

    Qualifications

    Knowledge and Experience

    • A holder of a bachelor’s degree in journalism, media and film or equivalent.
    • At least six years’ experience in a similar role.
    • Ability to subtitle videos.
    • Ability to edit videos to perfection within stipulated timeframes.
    • Ability to translate a video script into a feature or documentary.
    • Ability to lay a voice over into a video edit.
    • Ability to work on an edit from start to finish i.e., recording, scripting, editing, subtitling.
    • Able to travel within and outside the country.
    • Knowledge in shooting free hand and on stand.
    • Proficiency in video editing using Final Cut Pro and effect tools
    • Voice over, colour correction, gimbal management, and drone pilot license is an advantage.
    • Knowledge on the use of Apple Motion and Captionator are an added advantage.
    • A strong portfolio showcasing previous work.
    • Great organizational, time management, communication skills and people management stills.

The right candidate should have the capability to write high-quality content that informs, educates, and influences diverse audiences while upholding the organization’s brand voice, quality standards, and strategic objectives.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Carry out research on topics assigned and fact-check any data collected.
    • Create content in form of news stories, articles, blogs, newsletters or print based on the data collected from the research.
    • Read style guides or project briefs and use them to develop content for assignments.
    • Convert the information acquired into readable, easy-to-understand content tailored to the specific audience.
    • Revise articles based on editorial feedback.
    • Turnaround stories and articles within short timelines.
    • Adhere to stipulated editorial guidelines.
    • Tailor writing style to meet the needs of target audience.
    • Proofreading assignments to correct errors before submission.
    • Submitting completed assignments in the requisite document format.
    • Review articles and publications.
    • Caption images to tell a comprehensive story.
    • Coordinate with external editors, translators, printers, or agencies where needed.
    • Be a self-driven internal journalist–seek out the best content and align it audiences and strategic objectives
    • Contribute to regular editorial plans
    • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices

    Qualifications

    Knowledge and Experience

    • A bachelor’s degree in communication or journalism writing or their equivalent.
    • 3 years’ experience in a similar role within a large organization.
    • Skilled in Sub-editing
    • Demonstrated skills in writing hard and soft news, storytelling, and communications across a wide variety of channels i.e., digital, offline media  and beyond
    • Attention to detail, accuracy, efficiency, and ability to meet tight deadlines
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Conversant with relevant industry standards and regulations
