    Senior Legal Counsel, Regulatory Affairs

    Key Responsibilities

    • Representing the Group in public policy matters and stakeholder engagement and input on legislation during drafting as assigned.
    • Manage Regulatory issues, including conducting review and analysis as well as preparing position statements. This will entail the engagement of relevant internal and external stakeholders and regulatory (includes regional/international) compliance – CBK, CMA, CA, IRA, RBA, CAK, KAMP, PRISK).
    • Carry out legislation and regulation analysis by reviewing and analysing relevant documents &/or records, preparation of position statements as well as business advisory papers.
    • Consolidation of analysis of legislation and advisory statements (position statements and resultant action matrix).
    • Follow up on product and outsourcing  approvals with the relevant regulatory authorities.
    • Responding to and dealing with customer complaints received from regulatory authorities..
    • Maintain a Group wide approach to regulatory affairs and advocacy.
    • Any other duties as may be required.

    MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS

    The preferred candidate will meet the following minimum criteria: 

    • Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized institution.
    • Hold a Diploma in Law.
    • Have at least 5 years relevant post admission experience, including specific experience in the below:
    • 4 years’ experience in legal drafting, corporate & commercial Practice and Risk Management.
    • 3 years’ experience in Legal Communication and Advocacy.

    Technology Vendor Manager

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop and execute a comprehensive technology vendor management strategy to selecting, engaging, and overseeing external technology providers to ensure they align with the Group’s goals, deliver value, and minimize vendor risk.
    • Collaborate with Supply Chain Management (SCM) and business owners to evaluate all contractual documentation (MSA, SLA, SOWs) including pricing models, compliance requirements, and exit strategies, for potential Technology vendors. 
    • Coordinate with system and business owners to ensure sufficient budgeting is provided for all vendor contracts every financial year.
    • Monitor and report on the performance of Technology vendors to ensure delivery is in line with contractual obligations, performance metrics and escalate breaches to SCM and Legal for remediation/compliance enforcement.
    • Collaborate with SCM and Software Asset Management (SAM) to continuously assess and mitigate Technology vendor risks such as data breaches, regulatory non-compliance, license non-compliance, and supply chain disruptions.
    • Build long-term technology vendor relationships and partnerships through regular service review meetings with vendors in conjunction with System and Business owners across the group.
    • Follow through the implementation of service improvement plan/initiatives as documented in the CSI register in collaboration with various stakeholders across the group related to Technology Vendors.
    • Act as a central point of contact and escalation for IT vendor/stakeholder issues and coordinate, control and resolve issues/problems by devising alternative courses of action and contingency plans including innovative approaches.
    • Ensure all IT Services and products across the group are supported by valid contracts and contract milestones including expiry and renewal processes are tracked and escalated as the case may be.
    • Liaise with SCM and legal partners to review, report on and revise contractual agreements as necessary.

    Professional Qualifications

    • ITIL Foundation or Project Management certification
    •  Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or equivalent.

    •  MASTERS MBA/Msc AA

    Manager, Occupational Health, Safety & Environment (OHSE)

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Coordinate engagements with relevant internal and external stakeholders, such as internal OSH Committees, appropriate departments, external auditors, and relevant authorities to ensure effective implementation of Group HSE programs.
    • Maintain and update the Group's Legal Register and Safety manual to reflect current occupational health, safety, and environmental requirements, and communicate changes to relevant teams.
    • Plan and coordinate workplace renewal, internal inspections, statutory safety audits, fire safety audits, maintenance of the OSH Inventory and risk assessments, ensuring timely follow-up and closure of identified actions.
    • Arrange and monitor medical surveillance programs and workplace health assessments in collaboration with approved medical practitioners.
    • Implement and document environmental assessments (noise, lighting, ergonomics, and air quality) and ensure follow-up on recommended improvements.
    • Coordinate emergency preparedness and response activities, including evacuation/fire drills, testing of emergency installations, Call Tree Tests, personal evacuation plans for PLWD and maintaining readiness for people-related aspects of BCM.
    • Provide OSH support to procurement and facilities teams for various bank acquisitions; technical input in assessing new or modified business locations and in construction safety, identifying potential HSE risks and recommending control measures.
    • Maintain and update HSE documentation and reporting systems, including incident logs, inspection reports, and training records, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Complete workplace visits to monitor compliance.
    • Promote a positive safety culture through awareness activities, training sessions (First aiders/Fire Marshals), Safety briefs, contractor safety, follow up of inspection issues and regular engagement with staff and OSH committee including ensuring valid appointments.
    • Investigate and report incidents, accidents, near misses, and occupational diseases in compliance with the relevant statutory regulations and prepare trend summaries for management review

    MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

    The preferred candidate will meet the following minimum criteria:

    • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from a recognized university.
    • Professional certificate or diploma in occupational health and safety or equivalent relevant area. Training in disaster management &/or first aid or fire marshalling is an added advantage.
    • At least 3 years' relevant work experience in a large organization, including experience in the following specific areas:
      • Implementing health and safety systems
      • Coordinating and reviewing health and safety audits
      • Carrying out assessment of construction or contractors' safety
      • Conducting fire drills
      • Facilitating training sessions
      • Preparation of management reports
      • Managing a diverse range of stakeholders
