    Social Worker

    About The Job

    • Applications are invited from suitably qualified and dynamic persons for appointment as Social Worker

    Position Summary:

    • Under the leadership of the Alternative Care Coordinator, the Social Worker will support Caregivers in the discharge of their duties of providing care for children in their family houses.
    • This includes direct work with the children and caregivers based on the professional social work practice, ethic, and values to achieve the sustainable development of the SOS families and future integration of children into their community.
    • Will also be responsible to ensure the timely completion of the family development plans with the active participation of children and caregivers

    The ideal candidate should:

    • Hold a first degree in Social Worker, Sociology, Economics or Community Development
    • Have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in Child Development and Project Management
    • Possess positive and professional approach. Highly organized, able to work independently, use initiative, and keep commitments.
    • Be a motivated self-starter with initiative, flexibility and enthusiasm
    • Strategic thinker combined with practical “ can do’’ attitude
    • Possess strong supervisory, organizational and time management skills with precision to meet deadlines.
    • Must be knowledgeable in Child Rights and Child Protection Practices
    • Have knowledge of national policy developments in the area of youth empowerment, entrepreneurship and employability
    • Experience on alternative care, reintegration, , child and young people counselling
    • Experience on women economic empowerment
    • Team player & ability to cooperate with Heads of departments and projects

    FS Project Coordinator

      • Project Coordinator

    Position Summary:

    • Under the leadership of the Programme Director, the Project Coordinator will provide leadership in planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the family Strengthening Programme in the location in line with the Vision, Mission, Values, brand, approved strategies policies and guidelines of the organization and national legislation.
    • Responsible for the overall case management and monitoring of quality family strengthening service. Supports in building strong network of partner organizations; building positive relationships with community and local authorities.
    • Responsible for supporting, building and managing a strong team in the Programme unit/.and supporting project development in the field of family strengthening in line with the approved concept note, results framework, and financial plan.

    The ideal candidate should:

    • Hold a first degree in Social Work, Sociology, Economics or Community Development
    • Have a minimum of two (5) years’ experience in Community and Child Development and Project project management, monitoring and evaluation within a development context.
    • Have excellent command of the English language and good communication skills, preferably also fluent in the local language of project communities.
    • Possess a positive and professional approach. Highly organized, leadership ability, strong supervisory and time management skills with precision to meet deadlines.keeping commitments.
    • Possess strong coordination and team management ability. Report writing skills (both physical and financial) on timely basis.
    • Basic computer skills in Microsoft suite
    • Be a motivated self-starter with initiative, flexibility and enthusiasm
    • Strategic thinker combined with practical “ can do’’ attitude
    • Must be knowledgeable in Child Rights and Child Safe Protection Practices
    • Have excellent analytical skills with ability to analyze issues within local and global contexts
