    Yard Operations Manager

    Yard Operations

    • Plan and manage cargo receiving, storage, handling, and dispatch.
    • Oversee yard layout, traffic flow, and equipment allocation.
    • Coordinate with transport, maintenance, and security teams for smooth operations.
    • Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE)
    • Enforce compliance with ISO, OSHA, IOGP, and API standards.
    • Manage high-risk operations (eg, lifting, hazardous materials) with proper PTWs.
    • Lead safety meetings, audits, and emergency response drills.
    • Oil & Gas Cargo Handling
    • Lead handling of oil & gas equipment, pipes, and hazardous cargo.
    • Ensure compliance with IOGP and API pipe handling standards.
    • Work closely with project and engineering teams for specialized logistics.
    • Team Management
    • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team (operators, riggers, supervisors).
    • Implement shift schedules, KPIs, and performance evaluations.
    • Promote a safety-first, inclusive culture.
    • Equipment Oversight
    • Manage and inspect yard equipment (forklifts, cranes, reach stackers).
    • Ensure maintenance schedules are followed to avoid downtime.
    • Digital Systems & Reporting
    • Use Yard Management Systems (YMS), digital PTW tools, and cargo tracking platforms.
    • Monitor performance via dashboards and ensure paperless processes.
    • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Liaise with internal teams, customers, regulatory bodies (eg, KRA, KPA), and contractors.
    • Support audits, inspections, and customer site visits.
    • Sustainability
    • Implement waste reduction, energy-efficient practices, and carbon-reduction initiatives.
    • Support company green logistics goals.

    • Mandatory: Experience handling oil & gas cargo or OOG/heavy-lift logistics.

    Sea Exports Manager M/F

    Mission Description                      

    • Manage the teams handling Sea Export out of Kenya.
    • Keep the team informed of the changes/evolutions & communicate the necessary internal alignments, objectives.
    • Evaluate the subordinates performance.
    • Develop the skills of the employees.
    • Implement good conditions (procedure) of the case transfer in case of organizational changes within the team.
    • Build the Middle office organization, expertise, the means and ensure the standard processes are in place.
    • Ensure the organization, the expertise and the means are in line with the objectives given by the Manager.
    • Regularly review the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and ensure alignment to serve customers.
    • Control the implementation of the SOP by MO team, Quality audit (internal and external) and by continually monitoring it against the approved action plan.
    • Coordinate and monitor operations.
    • Monitor the quality of service provided to the clients.
    • Control and manage the risks.
    • Ensure the risk control framework is in place.
    • Implement all actions to ensure minimal extra/additional charge exposure.
    • Ensure our agreed contractual KPIs with the clients and internal KPIs are met.
    • Implement all actions to ensure minimal disbursements exposure (compliance classification procedures, application of proper billing and expenses posting to the files and manage the risk (focus on debit).

    Profile

    • Business Degree.
    • Diploma in Shipping, Clearing & Forwarding or related field.
    • 5 years' experience in a busy Shipping Company or related field.
    • Minimum of a 1 year experience in Managerial role.
