    Enterprise Architect - 2 Posts

    Position Scope:

    Reporting to the ICT Architecture & Data Governance Manager, the incumbent is responsible for developing IT information models (defined data structures, schemas, information types and workflows) and related documentation for IT Systems in use by or to be procured by the Bank in line with Bank policy, Business Processes, Architecture and Best Practice, standards and methods. The job holder will be responsible for documenting a technology governance framework and set of standards to enable acquisition, development and deployment of IT solutions & services that maximize interoperation, re-use, minimize duplication, optimize use of IT assets, reduce incidents on service and overall simplify the IT environment across the Bank.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Investigate enterprise’ and customers’ requirements for the content and structure of information deliverables.
    • Document governance and innovation in data as one of the areas of focus, through identification and enablement of data capabilities across the enterprise.
    • Architect data solutions ensuring that data solutions are built for performance, fault tolerance and security with reusable patterns.
    • Propose data security measures and techniques and guide on their implementation.
    • Document end-to end data lifecycle management activities and offer guidance.
    • Develop and maintain an enterprise architecture framework that drives technology, solutions development standards and provide common approaches for integration across enterprise applications, processes, and data leading to architecture artifacts, frameworks and patterns to be used as references by the development teams across the organization
    • Document processes and solutions and ensure that the defined Enterprise Architecture taxonomy is leveraged by the Enterprise.
    • Research, analyze and promote data standards to be used across the enterprise.
    • Define technical standards and guidelines to encourage reuse of existing data stores, as well as address issues of security, timeliness, and quality.
    • Develop a detailed knowledge base of the underlying data and data products and become the subject matter expert on content, current and potential future uses of data, and the  quality and interrelationship between core elements of the data repository and data products;
    • Investigate emerging technologies and advise on their adoption.
    • Participate in proof-of-concept projects and other projects that are in early use of new technologies.
    • Prepare periodic reports on Enterprise Architecture compliance, progress, compliance issues, and provide guidance on the treatment required to achieve compliance.
    • Investigate enterprise’ and customers’ requirements for the content and structure of information deliverables.
    • Provide standards and best-practices for adoption and provide guidance on the consumption of existing Enterprise Architecture artefacts.

    Skills & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in ICT, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
    • Data Analyst / Data Modelling certifications
    • CBAP or TOGAF and ITIL Foundation certification are desirable.
    • Three (3) years’ progressive experience in IT field in an enterprise Architecture related environment.
    • Experience in operating systems (windows, Unix);
    • Knowledge in Database management systems;
    • Exposure to multiple, diverse software development technologies and processing environments

    Manager, Regulatory Compliance & Ethics

    Position Scope:

    The position is responsible ensuring that the bank operates within all applicable legal, regulatory, and ethical frameworks. This role involves developing compliance programs, monitoring adherence to laws and internal policies, and fostering a strong culture of ethics and integrity across the organization

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement a risk-based compliance monitoring framework, capable of identifying, assessing and reporting all material compliance risks.
    • Monitor and coordinate compliance activities of all departments within the Bank and ensure their procedures, internal systems and controls are up-to-date and properly documented.
    • Maintain an updated understanding of relevant regulatory requirements by providing advice and guidance to senior managers on various current and emerging laws & regulatory requirements that impacts on the banking business.
    • Keep the business informed regarding pending industry changes, trends, and best practices and assess the potential impact of these changes on the Banking processes.
    • Develop an effective compliance training program for employees to create awareness on laws, regulations and ethical standards governing the banking industry.
    • On an ongoing basis, identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk, and develop/implement corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues, and provide general guidance on dealing with similar situations in the future.
    • Respond to alleged violation of rules, regulations, policies and procedures by evaluating and recommending the initiation of appropriate investigative procedures.
    • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Risk Management, Internal Audit, Human Resources, etc.) to direct compliance issues to appropriate existing channels for further investigation and resolution, and consult with the legal department as needed to resolve difficult legal compliance issues
    • Prepare standard and ad-hoc data reports to regulators and other stakeholders as may be required.
    • Review compliance policies and procedures on a regular basis to ensure they comply with statutory and regulatory requirements. 
    • Develop and maintain effective and efficient interaction with regulators, ensuring the bank’s views are appropriately represented, and facilitate the supervisory activities of regulators.
    • Identify, assess and report on the reputational risks facing the Bank through laid down procedures.
    • Ensure adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines (e.g., Central Bank, AML/CFT, data privacy, consumer protection).
    • Stay updated on regulatory changes and assess their impact on the bank’s operations.
    • Oversee implementation of whistleblowing mechanisms and ensure protection against retaliation.
    • Investigate misconduct cases and recommend appropriate disciplinary actions.
    • Support in coordination and implementation of good ethical behavior in the way the Bank conducts its businesses and ensure adherence to best business practices.

    Skills & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field from a recognized University.
    • Professional certifications such as CAMS, CRCM, or Ethics & Compliance certifications preferred.
    • Professional Qualification in CPA or ACCA shall be an added advantage
    • A minimum of 6- 7 years’ working experience, with at least five (5) years in middle level management in regulatory compliance, ethics, or governance roles within banking or financial services.

    Manager, Market Risk

    Position Scope:

    • The position is responsible for identifying, measuring, monitoring, and mitigating market risks that arise from changes in interest rates, foreign exchange rates, equity prices, and other market variables. This role ensures that the bank’s risk exposure remains within approved limits and complies with regulatory requirements.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide leadership, set direction and oversee the market risk monitoring function in area of responsibility.
    • Control and supervision of the management of market risks in the Bank. This includes the approval of limits, excesses and costs within your delegated authorities.
    • Develop proactive engagement with business in pursuit of balanced risk / return positions via discussions on market, liquidity and applicable trading risk limits.
    • Provide analysis of risk exposures, market commentaries, analysis of variances and so on to
    • Treasury and Chief Risk Office as and when required.
    • Develop proactive engagement with ALCO and Risk Committee in pursuit of sustainable and profitable balance sheet growth.
    • Manage the middle office team independently from the business and ensure that the function is adequately resourced with an appropriate number of competent staff.
    • Identify market risk exposures across trading and banking books.
    • Develop and maintain risk models such as Value at Risk (VaR), stress testing, and sensitivity analysis.
    • Monitor market trends and economic indicators affecting risk positions.
    • Prepare and present regular risk reports to senior management and regulatory bodies.
    • Ensure compliance with internal risk policies and external regulations (e.g., Basel III).
    • Support regulatory submissions, including backtesting and capital adequacy reporting.
    • Work closely with trading, treasury, finance, and compliance teams to manage risk limits.
    • Provide analysis and commentary on changes in risk positions and their impact.
    • Contribute to the development of risk management frameworks and technology platforms.
    • Recommend risk mitigation strategies and hedging solutions.
    • Ensure that there are appropriate and documented internal controls and procedures in place. Monitor the operation of such procedures and controls and regularly review them to ensure that they reflect any changes in products, systems, policy and regulations.
    • Maintain appropriate relationships with Regulators and Rating agencies and liaise with internal / external auditors. Any response to audit findings must first be approved by ALCO/ CRO.
    • The sole signatory for Market Risk on all local PDD’s but responsible for consulting with the relevant Treasury/ product risk teams as necessary.
    • Set Internal and / or regulatory limits via the relevant units, after due consultation with the relevant Treasury/ product risk teams and monitor such limits.
    • Report local limit excesses to ALCO.
    • Support internal and external audits related to market risk.
    • Assist in policy development for market, trading credit, and liquidity risk.

    Skills & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field from a recognized University.
    • FRM (Financial Risk Manager), CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), or PRM highly desirable.
    • Professional Qualification in CPA or ACCA shall be an added advantage
    • Good knowledge of balance sheet management and other risk management concepts.
    • A minimum of 7 years’ working experience, with at least five (5) years in middle level management in market risk/financial markets.
    • Excellent analytical skills and sound judgement in a rapidly changing and often stressful environment.

    Cybersecurity Manager

    Position Scope:

    • Responsible for implementation, upgrade or monitoring of the cybersecurity plans, perimeter and systems infrastructure and systems in line with IT security policies and procedures and in a manner that provides effective assurance, protection and security of Bank systems, business and customer data/information whilst assuring continuity of business.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Implement plans and actions that ensure the Bank’s adherence the CBK regulatory requirements of Cybersecurity oversight in the Bank
    • Develop and implement cybersecurity plans, systems and procedures to secure the Bank’s ICT Infrastructure and systems
    • Implement and monitor IT cybersecurity standards that pertain to ICT devices and systems to ensure infrastructure and system protection, health and uptime.
    • Implement and monitor IT cybersecurity standards that pertain to business systems and user management: changes, access and authentication and systems action logging
    • Take action to ensure, correct or report cybersecurity attacks, destructive/unauthorized access and continuous protection.
    • Perform risk assessments and execute tests to sustain and maintain cybersecurity standards for the ICT infrastructure and systems and take correction measures thereof.
    • Ensure compliance to the Bank policies, procedures, regulatory standards and guidelines
    • Any other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor

    Skills & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in IT/Business related field from a recognized university
    • Certified Ethical Hacker certification (CEH) is an added advantage
    • Cybersecurity Security Standards/Management Certification that relate to current technologies.

    • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certified (with 3 projects completed) would be an advantage
    • Prince II or PMI certification will be an added advantage
    • CBAP or TOGAF or ITIL Foundation certification
    • Five (5) years’ progressive experience in IT field within the Banking Sector
