In this Operational Financial Controller position

• Ensure adherence to DGF Steering Logic principles and with the support of the cluster financial controller.
• Understand service centers setup and assist to ensure over/under recoveries are addressed on a timely basis.
• Challenge the business on customer profitability, including selling and buying rates.
• Monitor and address any gross profit-sharing concerns.
• Understand and assist with key commercial controlling concepts and activities.
• Understand and support the cluster financial controller with the Steering Logic Reconciliations and actions to address any unacceptable deviations.
• Support strategic project through assisting with BCA preparation where the opportunity is available.
• Functional knowledge of CW1 processes and functionality, as well as supporting tools, to support operations in driving efficiencies and accuracy of files.
• Drive file management in collaboration with operations, with particular focus on all topics related to the billing tab. Perform file level reviews to ensure that GP is maximized prior to file closure.
• Support on all controlling topics which may vary from time to time, but would include billing timeliness, revenue leakage, cargo insurance, disbursement fees etc.
• Drive projects for system and process continuous improvement related to operational and financial controlling.
• Trusted advisor of operators, providing insight and advice to steer the business towards profitable and sustainable growth.
• Analysis of monthly results (eg MMR) and clear knowledge of drivers of results and ability to resolve stakeholders enquiries regarding results, finance processes etc.
• Additional responsibilities, projects and outcomes may be applicable as per business needs.

In this Cluster Financial Accountant position

• Lead and manage the accounting team within the cluster, with a focus on effective collaboration and efficient communication between cluster and shared service centre team members.
• Ensure adherence to internal DHL Group and DGF policies, including but not limited to financial and management reporting requirements, Treasury policy, Supplier Lifecycle Management policy.
• Manage cash flow and treasury processes by providing oversight of PTP and treasury functions to ensure smooth and efficient payment processes.
• Coordinate MEC tasks for the cluster across the towers and with shared service centre teams to ensure an efficient and smooth MEC process.
• Coordinate statutory, internal and tax audits within the required deadlines.
• Ensure blackline reconciliations are completed appropriately and actions are taken on proactively to minimize risk and maintain financial health and stability for all balance sheet accounts.
• Ensure internal controls are implemented appropriately and evidence is maintained for ICON purposes.
• Financial approvals as defined by the applicable approvals matrix, which may include but not limited to: o Supplier invoices o Journals o Petty cash/mobile money reconciliations where required by policy.
• Review VAT reconciliation performed by VAT team and provide information to address reconciling items.
• Coordinate with GBS tax and VAT teams to ensure that all tax filings are made accurately within the deadlines.
• Manage staff-related accounting including Concur, staff accounts, payroll-related accruals and provisions.
• Fixed asset management and reporting.
• Sponsor finance projects for system and process continuous improvement.

• Clear understanding of the key financial processes within DGF to ensure adequate supervision and support for each of the towers:
  • Accounting (RTR): Accounting (RTR) involves preparing and reporting (consolidated) financial statements, maintaining accurate financial accounts and records, and generating reports for internal or external auditors for analysis and compliance.
  • Accounts Payable (PTP): Accounts Payable (PTP) encompasses managing the end-to-end incoming invoices from receipt to payment preparation, reviewing and matching invoices to ensure bills are paid and maintaining accurate records of all transactions.
• Balance Sheet & Risk Management: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the company's balance sheet while identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial risks to maintain financial stability and compliance.
• Cash Flow Management: Monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing the inflow and outflow of cash to ensure the company can meet its financial obligations and invest in growth opportunities.
• ESG Reporting: Ensure the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting KPIs are reported accurately as required at country/cluster level per Group reporting guidelines.
• Foreign Exchange Rate Management: Managing the risks associated with fluctuations in foreign exchange rates to protect the company’s financial performance and profitability.

Role Outline

We are looking for someone with midlevel experience in human resource management to support and grow the human resource capacity to support efficient and effective operations in the business.
• To support the Human Resources Business Partners, Line Management, and employees through the delivery of a professional HR management service, using a dynamic business partnership. The junior HRBP will also analyze HR data and lead L&D processes. Additionally, he/she is expected to collaborate with different departments to address HR related issues and contribute to fostering a positive work culture within the organization.

About The Role Key Duties And Responsibilities

• In collaboration with HRBP Kenya, ensure implementation and management of Human Resources policies, procedures, systems, and practices at the operational level.
• Ensure efficient HR administration support is provided to contracts, departments, and sites.
• In liaison with the Payroll Manager, support with monthly payroll input & annual merit and bonus processes.
• Lead Learning & Development initiatives, programs, and processes.
• Support with Industrial & Employee relations; Disciplinary, Union & CBA matters - good understanding of the local labour legislation, and labour practice and offer advice to the business.
• Prepare & submit monthly HR reporting; prepare continuous and monthly HR metrics and data analytics for management decision-making.
• Leave administration and capturing.
• Follow up weekly with Site Management on Biometric Capture.
• Manage and run effective and efficient recruitment process & onboarding in line with company processes and policy.
• Assist in the implementation of HR-related functions for OMS.
• Effective HR communication - update communication zones with all relevant HR information and activities.

About You

• Relevant University degree in a business-related field.
• 4-5 years of Experience in Human Resource Management.
• HR certification.

• Experience in warehousing/logistics / FMCG environment.
• Very good knowledge of IR.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
