Job Purpose

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the job holder will be responsible for Leading Finance Team in the respective Division. He/She will maintain effective accounting practices and internal controls in line with accepted accounting practices and provide management and financial accountancy services to the Management Team and staff as required.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS standards.
• Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and monitor, analysis, and report on the business performance against targets.
• Manage the end of year and interim financial audit process.
• Prepare ad hoc financial reports and presentations for management as required.
• Manage the balance sheet and complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage the general ledger and the fixed asset register.
• Monitor the use of online purchasing system.
• Monitor Stocks and ensure Cargo in the Warehouse is fully accounted.
• Recognize staff for their achievements and ideas and provide consistent and timely feedback to staff regarding progress towards achieving objectives.
• Supervise the collection team and ensure all accounts are collected on time, identify delinquent accounts, and recommend a way forward for each to the Finance Manager.
• Responding to enquiries from internal and external sources on financial related matters.
• Provide quality training in accounting procedures, systems, processes and interpreting accounts and general financial management.
• Assist the Department Manager to mitigate all operational and financial risks in the department.
• Identify opportunities to improve Finance Team operations including the accuracy, efficiency and timeliness of procedures and implement agreed improvements.
• Continuously identify areas for process improvement within the finance department.
• Develop and maintain effective internal relationships with all internal and external customers

Education, Professional Qualifications & Work experience

• Bachelor’s degree in commerce, Finance or Economics
• CPA (K)/ACCA
• KCSE Minimum C (plain)
• At least 5 years’ work experience in General Accounting in Logistics and warehousing
• Excellent background knowledge in freight forwarding
• Expert knowledge of national and international import/export legislation
