    Accounts Supervisor

    The Accounting Supervisor ensures that all financial and accounting operations within an accounting department run smoothly. You shall oversee the work of junior accounting staff, review financial statements to ensure accuracy, maintaining the general ledger, performing account reconciliations (reconcile general ledger accounts including Loan Balances), preparing tax returns, assisting with audit preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned.

    Responsibilities

    1.  Assisting the Financial Accountant in the preparation of monthly and quarterly accounting reports.
    2. Analyzing financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with generally accepted accounting practices including IFRS.
    3. Identifying potential cash flow problems and financial irregularities.
    4. Accurately preparing tax returns and ensuring that company taxes are paid in a timely manner.
    5. Supervisor sales invoicing and entering sales invoices using applicable software
    6. Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts including Creditors Ledger, Debtors Ledger, Loan Balances, etc.
    7. Supervising and providing overall guidance to account officers/clerks as well as other junior accounting staff.
    8. Providing regular updates to the Financial Accountant regarding company finances.
    9. Monitor the daily performance of the accounting department
    10. Organize financial data into useable information and maintain updated records
    11. Track the progress of financial and accounting objectives
    12. Ensuring that the company maintains compliance with accounting legislation.
    13. Investigating and resolving audit findings (internal or external), account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
    14. Performing other accounting duties and supporting junior staff as required or assigned.

    Qualifications

    1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting / Finance
    2. 4 - 6 years' of work-related experience
    3. Strong written and verbal skills
