    Business Coach, Lending

    Mission for Business Coach, Lending:

    • To increase access to credit for Oze entrepreneurs who can use a loan to grow their business and pay it back on time. 


    Responsibilities:

    • Develop content to help Oze entrepreneurs better understand how to apply for a loan and manage credit.
    • Publish 1 blog per month about managing credit, getting an Oze loan, or using a loan to grow your business.
    • Create content that we can send specifically to loan applicants and active borrowers.
    • Collaborate with the Social Media & Community manager on relevant content for our social media channels and workshops.
    • Manage loan applications. 
    • Populate the loan application tracker with new applicants.
    • Conduct a primary assessment on the quality of the application and the availability of necessary documents.
    • Follow up with applicants to make sure that they understand the process and successfully submit their applications. 
    • Prepare OZÉ data and Mobile Money / Bank Statements for processing. 
    • Own the repayment process. 
    • Use technology systems to automate reminders to borrowers.
    • Set up digital standing orders through an Ecobank Xpress account where possible.
    • Proactively communicate with borrowers who have a history of late payments.
    • Maintain a 98% repayment rate.
    • Update the necessary trackers when repayments have been made.
    • Analyze the data for patterns to improve loan products, the application process and repayments.
    • Keep records of why users are rejected for a loan, make a late payment, or fail to pay.
    • Create systems and nudges that will improve repayment rates. 
    • Propose and test new types of loans. 
    • Be a team player
    • Participate in all-hands meeting and 360 feedback sessions.
    • Continuously learn by participating in 6 relevant webinars or by reading 6 relevant books per year and share what you learned with the team at monthly lunch & learns and/or through a blog post.
    • Recruit at least one awesome person to join our team; assist in the hiring and training of additional product team members.
    • Work with product and tech teams to develop and implement product improvements.


    Minimum Requirements & Skills:

    • A  strong passion for solving challenges with & for MSMEs.
    • At least 3 years of experience working at a fintech lending company.
    • Comfort analyzing with large data sets in Excel. Proficiency in MySQL and R-Studio is a plus. 
    • Magnetic personality that can manage building rapport with users while being stern as needed to collect payments.  
    • Ability to work flexibly and efficiently on a cross-cultural team in a fast-paced environment. 
    • Excellent verbal, visual & written communicator.
