    Cost and Management Accountant

    Role Summary

    • The Management Accountant will oversee cost accounting procedures; prepare, analyze and present relevant costing data and risk analysis that will assist the Finance Committee in making critical and well-informed business decisions that will ensure future stability, profitability and growth for the Company.
    • You will provide meaningful and timely management information to the Committee to assist in the decision-making process within the Company.

    Key Responsibilities for Performance Management

    • Produce Performance Management Reports including, budgets, cash forecasts, monthly variance analysis and commentaries, payables aging analysis, inventory/consumption reports, inter alia.
    • Prepare analysis of sales and margin variances to budget, prior month’s actual and forecasts, explain variances (investigate and advise on variances), project performance reports including relevant non-financial measures where appropriate.
    • Responsible for the production of the annual budget and periodic forecasting
    • Liaising with department heads to ensure that each department remains within budget.
    • Provide management reporting for decision-making, including project appraisal, evaluation and post-implementation analysis

    Manage capital expenditure

    • Review and manage project work in progress accounts and undertake weekly reconciliation
    • Conduct general and periodic inventory count and reconciliation
    • Costing of imported products/materials in a timely manner
    • Report on company assets including balance sheet account reconciliations and review of intangible assets
    • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and company policies in respect of CMA
    • Manage Account Officers within the CMA unit, including day-to- day communication and motivation as well as training (knowledge transfers) and performance management
    • Carry out continuous reviews of working accounting practices and processes to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations

    Key Responsibilities for Fixed Asset Accounting

    • In this role, you will be responsible for implementing fixed assets best practices and processes.
    • The role requires you to do various activities which are related to Fixed Asset accounting like:

    Specifically, your key responsibilities include:

    • Support ongoing change, process standardization and continuous improvement initiatives across the CMA function.
    • Ensure accurate accounting of Fixed Assets capitalization & retirement
    • Ensure proper capitalization of assets and tracking of purpose of issuance of materials
    • Ensure proper recording of issuances and return of material from sites
    • Ensure Quarterly & Annual reporting of Financials wrt Fixed Assets, CWIP
    • Ensure completion of physical verification and accounting & recording of impact in books of account
    • Handle customer-facing interactions on all Capex activities.
    • Support and assist in coordinating timely recording of all CMA activities, including new additions, deletions, inter-project movements, decommissioning activities and disposals.
    • Act as focal point for ensuring ERP recording of these activities.
    • Ensure completion and management of appropriate trackers for Capex projects, including replacement Capex and non-routine maintenance programmes. Maintain liaison with the Project Managers (Field Engineers) and Rollout teams
    • Coordinate monthly closing of financial records and posting of month-end information, including Capex accruals, Capex cost reviews and assessments for major vendors, etc in line with IFRS accounting. Ensure accuracy of post-close financial statements pertaining to CMA.
    • Manage all Capex related queries and issues in consultation with Project teams. Ensure liaison between the company, vendors and Auditors to meet information needs and proper maintenance of information to meet historical purposes.
    • Coordinate all internal and external audit work within CMA pertaining to IFRS 16 compliance.
    • Support performance management and reporting against CMA metrics with core focus on Capex projects, age analysis for Capital Work in Progress (CWIP) and capital advances, and actual vs forecast analyses for Capex and depreciation.
    • Ensure implementation of Finance policies, processes and procedures.
    • Formulate policies aimed at ensuring process improvement across CMA with key focus on Capex management process and IFRS 16 compliance.
