At least a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance,
Three to five years of experience in accounting
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and internet navigation
Working knowledge of QuickBooks
Knowledge of office practices, procedures and business equipment.
Organizational and business communication skills with two years related experience.
Ability to provide informal guidance to new team members
Capacity to explain complex information to others in straight forward situations
Ability to analyze possible solutions using technical experience and judgment and precedents.
Core Functions
The finance officer will be responsible for managing the organizations administrative services, finance and helping to create organizational and program budgets in collaboration with the Country Representative and Program Managers and perform other miscellaneous tasks
Reporting to the Country Representative, this position’s primary responsibility is ensuring organizational effectiveness and financial sustainability by providing leadership for the organization’s financial and operational functions.
Working with the management team, the position also contributes to the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies and practicesThis position will also interact with the leadership of Bethany Christian Services Global as deemed necessary.

Responsibilities
Design, implement and improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of organizations mission – specifically, support better management reporting, information flow and management, business process and organizational planning.
Manage and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of Support Services (general service, IT, logistics, and finance), through improvements to each function as well as coordination and communication between supports and program functions.
Play a significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational excellence.
Oversee overall financial management, planning, systems and controls.
Management of company budget in collaboration with the Country Representative
Development of individual program budgets together with program coordinators
Invoicing to funding sources
Signing and disbursement of checks for agency expenses
Manage organization’s fiscal documents.
Conduct regular meetings with Country Representative around fiscal planning.
Direct annual budgeting and planning process for the organization’s annual budget together with the Country Representative.
Develop and manage annual budget in collaboration with other team members.
Oversee monthly and quarterly assessments and forecasts of organization’s financial performance against budget, financial and operational goals.
Oversee the preparation and delivery of short and long-term financial and managerial reporting.
Generating year-end reports and fulfilling tax related requirements.
Assisting Program coordinators in cresting annual organizational budget and monitoring cash flow.
Managing contracts and reimbursement requests.
Overseeing management of archival and administrative files.
Overseeing and coordinating general services such as transportation, office supplies, repair and maintenance, etc in a manner that supports and enhances organizational performance.
Administering payroll and employee benefits.
Ensure that all statutory requirements are met.
Prepare accounts for external annual audit and be a liaison on behalf of BCS in Ghana
