    Finance Manager

    Job Purpose

    • To oversee the financial management functions and ensure effective compliance with applicable local and international Accounting standards and policies

    Principal Accountabilities

    •  Provide information on request to the Board to assist it in its work
    •  Develop financial and tax strategies and implement to enable efficient management of working capital and liquidity and save the company from over taxation
    •  Manage budgeting process and capital requests to ensure that company’s planning process is well coordinated and funds are available throughout the planning period
    •  Participate in key decisions as a member of the Executive management team
    •  Ensure accuracy of all financial information to both internal and external stakeholders
    •  Report financial results to the Board
    •  Maintain appropriate insurance coverage
    •  Ensure that record keeping meet the requirements of auditors and other governmental agencies
    •  Report risk issue to the Board of Directors for the appropriate actions to be taken
    •  Assist in arranging for debt and equity financing
    •  Monitor cash balances and cash forecast to ensure efficient use of cash resources
    •  Participate in conference calls with the investment community to obtain needed funding
    •  Maintain relationship with banks to ensure smooth relationship and safeguarding of funds
    •  Part of team representing the company to raise funds for the company
    •  Maintain relationship with external auditors and investigate their recommendations and findings

    Professional Qualification And Experience

    •  Relevant university degree in Finance and/or Accounting plus a fully qualified professional background in ICAG/ACCA/CIMA is required
    •  A master’s degree in Finance and/or Accounting would be an added advantage
    •  At least 5 years’ relevant experience at the managerial level in a food manufacturing environment is required
    •  Advanced working knowledge/experience in any relevant Accounting Software Applications

    Functional Competencies

    •  Ability to design and implement effective control systems, and maintain financial discipline under the direction of the General Manager and CEO
    •  Sound knowledge of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), generally accepted Accounting Policies & Procedures, and best practices
    • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Power Point, Word)

    • Ability to engage and build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
    •  Attention to details and ability to cope with pressure
    • Effective time management skills
    •  Must be proactive and have integrity
