    Financial Controller

    Direct Reports

    The following roles report to the Financial Controller;

    1. Credit Controller.
    2. Payables Accountant.
    3. Fixed Assets Accountant.
    4. Cashier.

    Primary purpose of the role;

    • Ensure proper financial records are maintained in an accurate and timely manner.
    • Planning, monitoring & controlling the Company’s cash flow and ensuring working capital is effectively managed.
    • Implementing internal controls and ensure effectiveness.
    • Statutory returns and taxes are remitted within timelines specified.
    • Coordinating statutory audit’s and ensure reporting are undertaken within the timelines set.
    • People Management and Development.
    • Reviewing controls, accounting and reporting procedures. Addressing and documenting any deficiencies or business productivity and efficiency opportunities.

    Qualifications

    • University degree in a business-related course.
    • Accountancy qualifications i.e. CPA, ACCA, ICAEW, CIMA or similarly recognized courses.
    • Minimum of 7 years work experience in finance roles of which at least 3 years must be in FMCG sector.

    Skills and experience

    • Financial reporting.
    • Managing statutory external audits.
    • Filing tax returns with KRA including following up on queries and tax refunds.
    • Credit control management.
    • Supplier payments management.
    • Inventory management.
    • Treasury management.
    • Experience working with ERP systems. Experience in SAGE R3 will be an added advantage.

    Technical/ Operational Competencies.

    • Communication skills both written and oral.
    • Delegation and staff coaching skills.
    • Time management and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Advanced excel/ spreadsheet skills
    • Interpersonal skills

    Behavioral Competencies.

    • Excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Coordinating & organizing ability.
    • Attention to detail.
