​​​​Role Description

• The Finance Assistant handles operational financial tasks, ensuring accurate account reconciliation, transactions, VAT processing, and provides mentorship to the Finance Intern, maintaining compliance and up- to-date financial records.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and reconcile e-TIMS, bank transactions, and daily financial accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Manage AMREF-related payments and ensure they align with company obligations.
• Review and ensure the accuracy of invoices before submission to the Finance Manager for approval.
• Prepare and submit monthly VAT returns in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Maintain and update daily transaction journals to ensure completeness and accuracy.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, with 1-2 years of experience in a finance or accounting role.
• Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for internal collaboration, providing guidance to the intern, and the ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently under pressure.
