This position is responsible for the control of all activities and functions of the Central Laboratory while ensuring that samples delivered to the Lab are accurately analysed and results delivered on time.
Ensures that products meet established quality standards and specifications. This role involves testing and inspecting products, identifying defects or deviations from specifications, and collaborating with other departments to address quality issues.
Main Responsibilities
Calibrate Laboratory equipment on a daily basis while ensuring good equipment maintenance to prevent downtime and ensure accuracy.
Carry out analysis of all incoming milk & milk products in the lab within the stipulated time. Perform regular inspections and tests on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Carryout sampling as per the laid down sampling procedures.
Capture all the data obtained in the respective QA records correctly while ensuring legibility and timeliness.
Report promptly all anomalies/ nonconformities to the Quality Assurance Supervisor for timely corrective action (s).
Receive Microbial samples from all sections and update in the register.
Prepare media, diluents and carry out sterilization to ensure that they are free from any form of contamination.
Carry out Microbiological analysis of all received samples which entails aseptic sampling, media inoculation and incubation at respective temperatures.
Ensure all sampling devices and bacteriological glassware are adequately cleaned and sterilized.
verify environmental hygiene adherence in all sections of the factory i.e. carrying out aerial exposures
Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance product quality and efficiency.
Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant quality standards and industry best practices and stay updated on new quality control techniques and methodologies.
3 years of experience as a Quality Control Technician in a high-volume dairy processing laboratory, supporting a company that manufactures a diverse range of milk and dairy products.
Good understanding of both chemistry and microbiology laboratory equipment, including proper operation, calibration, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance.
Solid Health & Safety awareness and compliance capability.
Skilled in implementing and maintaining QMS, FSMS, FSSC, OHS, EMS, and ILS standards within laboratory and production environments.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret laboratory results accurately.
