    Senior External/ Internal Communications Advisor

    Tullow Oil  is looking to hire a Snr. external/internnal communications expert to work with the Ghanaian business. 

    Job Purpose 

    To develop and implement TGL’s Media Strategy with approval from External Affairs Manager while managing all aspects of TGL’s media relations. Provide timely advise on media issues that will be monitored to protect Tullow’s image and reputation.

    To support the delivery of TGL stakeholder engagement objectives through the deployment of the full range of communications activities, delivered in accordance with an agreed strategy and plan.

    Support Corporate Affairs in telling the exciting journey of Tullow in Ghana, particularly about our operations, EHS, Local Content and CSR interventions. Plan and organize public education and stakeholder engagement activities and to support Corporate Affairs in protecting Tullow’s investment in Ghana and in managing the company’s image and reputation.

    Responsibilities/Objectives 

    1. Communications
      1. Alignment of Internal Stakeholders to Corporate Goals
      2. Develop and implement TGL’s internal communications strategy in consultation with the Corporate Communications & Investor Relations Manager
      3. Partner with core functions of the business to roll out change initiatives and new projects as and when required 
      4. Create appropriate platforms to provide employees with an in depth understanding of the business, its goals, and objectives
      5. Help promote the inculcation of TGL’s core values as a way of life
      6.  Promote internal brand visibility
      7. Engage, align, and energise employees to become ambassadors for the company
    2. Investor Relations
      1. Develop and deploy systems, processes, and channels to facilitate two-way communication
      2. Develop a system for identifying and logging internal issues
      3. Develop and manage relevant channels for effective continuous engagement and alignment of employees to business goals
      4. Coordinate the production and distribution of relevant business literature for internal education/information
      5. Ensure TGL has Intranet exposure by publishing all key events/activities and other relevant stories
      6. Business Partnering to Deliver Specific Projects
      7. Identify and develop communication champions for the various functions to support effective internal communication
      8. Provide support for relevant functional and corporate campaigns (TOES, TOFET, Health Walk, etc) to capture the hearts and minds of employees in the successful delivery of business objectives.
      9. Support the delivery of corporate events
    3. Media Relations
      1. Develop and implement media relations strategy plans to help TGL to attain its business objectives
      2. Advise on managing the image and reputation of TGL
      3. Lead the efforts of telling the compelling journey of Tullow in Ghana
      4. Help strengthen media visibility for the company
      5. Lead in building and managing media relations
      6. Assist in the management of media queries
      7. Prepare content for, and organize media engagement platforms across the country
      8. Research and write content for the media and other channels
    4. Public Education
      1. Develop and implement a public education strategy, approved by Investor Relations and Corporate Communications Manager
      2. Assist with various levels of stakeholder engagements as advised by Line Manager
      3. Ensure that TGL has relevant literature in support of business objectives
      4. Support CLOs in their role with education materials and literatur
    5. Public Relations
      1. Develop and implement TGL’s PR strategy
      2. Assist with PR activities and other branding and messaging opportunities
      3. Integrate and align Public Relations and Internal Communications activities
      4. Identify and advise on PR opportunities
      5. Develop and implement a Public Education campaign about Tullow in Ghana, and the oil industry
    6. Risk & Assurance
      1. Actively participate in all risk and assurance activities within your department
      2. Apply the risk and assurance principles in day-to-day operations

    Education 

    1. Professional degree (1st Class Degree) in Communications or related field to communications.
    2. Journalism (a Plus)
    3. Public Relations experience
    4. Digital media experience
