    Systems and Virtualization Manager

    Our client, a leading company in the fintech industry is looking for an experienced individual for the role of a SYSTEMS AND VIRTUALIZATION MANAGER to support the company’s operations.

    ROLE PROFILE

    The successful candidate will be responsible for managing IT technologies and a group of technical IT systems and infrastructure personnel, developing and establishing IT systems, standards and procedures. He or she will also assign work to the operations staff as well as the analysis, design, deployment, and operations of IT software/systems supporting the business.

    DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Manage plans for project lifecycle deployment and define IT requirements.
    • Design, plan and monitor major projects, IT budgets, priorities, standards, and procedures.
    • Act as SME In one or more of the following fields (VMware/Compute systems) and work closely with the IT management team and business units to ensure alignment with the company objectives.
    • Coordinate with departments and monitor all VMware solution facilities.
    • Maintain all issues related to systems, virtualization and security including disaster recovery plans and BC programs.
    • Coordinate with various departments to work together according to business process requirements.
    • Monitor all critical matters and ensure compliance with guidelines to achieve all goals and enhance project growth.
    • Maintain knowledge of all present infrastructural trends and implement all business objectives.
    • Ensure high availability of critical business systems hosted by the company.
    • Develop and manage relationships with vendors in support of staff augmentation and systems support.
    • Perform system upgrades as necessary for OS and software as needed.
    • Systems administration within all aspects of Windows servers and email infrastructure.
    • Monitor active directory health and respond to issues.
    • Install and maintain infrastructure server including events manager, file integrity monitoring, radius and certificate authority.
    • Implement proper business continuity plans and data protection of Windows servers.
    • Design, implement and support VMware Hypervisor and related systems such as ESXi, vRealize and NSX.
    • Design and support infrastructure directory services, such as Microsoft Active Directory LDAP (Lightweight directory access protocol) authentication, group policy, DNS (Domain Name System), and PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) /Certificates and other related virtualization solutions.
    • Analyse system performance, implement improvements, event alerts, and availability reporting.
    • Ensure planning, designing and implementation for data centers and failover solutions.
    • Plan, design and implement IT systems and solutions.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent
    • At least 6 years of experience in IT.
    • ITIL Certification is preferred.
    • Experience with Tier 1 or 2 management consulting.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Must be a champion for pushing IT standards, procedures, policies, and best practices to the infrastructure team.
    • Detailed knowledge of PCI (Peripheral Component Interconnect) /DSS (decision support system) requirements.
    • Must have a good understanding of QSA (qualified security assessor) / CIS (computer information systems) standards.
    • Good command of the English language (listening, speaking, reading and writing) or equivalent to intermediate level.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high ability to work autonomously.
    • Knowledge and hand worker with Microsoft, VMware and security platforms and solutions.
    • Knowledge of virtualization, administration, setup and deployment, clustering, replications, backup/recovery, monitoring, hardening, PKI and terminal server/RDS (Remote Desktop Services).
    • Must be a champion for pushing IT standards, procedures, policies, and best practices to the infrastructure team.
    • Must be willing to travel to remote offices to understand current business unit and IT challenges in order to recommend solutions.
