    Vice Rector.

    The Ghana College of Pharmacists is seeking to employ motivated individuals into the position of Vice Rector.

    Job Summary

    • Be the deputy of the Rector to lead the College in all academic and related matters
    • oversees academic planning, academic program review, and curriculum development
    • Co-ordinate all academic activities of the Division at national and international levels that contribute to the College’s strategic academic direction;
    • Oversee the academic activities of the faculties, as well as other independent academic units, including both the appointment of academic staff and the oversight of those aspects of the College’s quality assurance systems designed to underpin and guarantee the high quality of the College’s teaching and research.
    • Supervises budget preparation for the academic and academic-related programs, allocating and reallocating funds and resources to and from these programs.
    • Prepare concept papers for the roll out of CDPs.
    • Be able to attract research grants into the Divisional Programs.
    • Provides leadership in creating and maintaining academic standards and policies.
    • Be Secretary to both the Divisional and faculty Boards.

    Qualification Required & Experience

    The Person

    • A registered and distinguished pharmacist of good standing with not less than 5 years experience.
    • A Fellow of the Ghana College of Pharmacists or West African Post Graduate College of Pharmacists.
    • Must be of good disposition, possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as be an effective team player.
    • Must have proven managerial and administrative experience. The possession of a post- graduate in a relevant discipline will be an advantage.
    • Must have good business acumen and capable of attracting and managing the resources of the College to achieve optimal results.

    OTHER PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:

    • Be a visionary leader, able to communicate the College’s vision and mission and inspire trust through an open and consultative style;
    • Be forward looking to and able to lead those under him/her to strive for excellence;
    • Should have considerable experience in academic programme development and review as well as quality assurance in teaching and learning;
    • Should have excellent management and interpersonal skills, and able to cope with the College’s staff members who have diverse interests;
    • An energetic and innovative thinker who has the persistence, enthusiasm and energy to start up new plans and keep them going ;
    • Demonstrate good leadership and teamwork, be able to listen and evaluate opinions with good judgment/decisions.

    Quality Assurance Pharmacist

    The Ghana College of Pharmacists is seeking to employ motivated individuals into the position of Quality Assurance Pharmacist.

    Job Summary

    The QA Pharmacist ensures compliance to quality management requirements as dictated by current ISO 9001/2015.

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Ensure adherence to the College Quality System, through SOP’s, Directives, etc and execute day to day Quality Operations for the respective divisions
    • Ensure the timeous departments and units to execute of College activities.
    • Ensure consistent compliance to all quality activities relating to Primaries.
    • Liaise optimally with Academic Affairs, Residency and CPDs, to ensure quicker turnaround times of results to release products.
    • Perform OMS and Audits on all contractors in accordance with the documented College schedule.
    • Maintain a robust Local Change Management System
    • Maintain effective relationships with College colleagues, healthcare professionals, service providers and regulatory authorities.
    • Be Responsible for the development and review of the strategic plan of the College.

    Qualification Required & Experience

    • Minimum: B.Pharm or Pharm D Degree.
    • A Post Graduate degree will be an added advantage
    • 3 years’ experience in Quality Assurance, with a working knowledge of Regulatory Affairs
    • Good analytical, organizing and communication skills.
    • Good Computer literacy (excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

    Director of Academic Affairs

    The Ghana College of Pharmacists is seeking to employ motivated individuals into the position of Director of Academic Affairs.

    Job Summary

    • Plan, implement and monitor all academic programmes in line with the College vision and mission.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

    • Co-ordinate and supervise activities of the Academic Sector including development of course programme.
    • Provide input for the formulation, reviewing and updating of academic policies
    • Ensure timely provision of educational logistics.
    • Provide input to the strategic planning process
    • Lead in integrated brand marketing, ensuring academic standards and healthy student learning environment.
    • Provide other related support for the College and Research initiatives and for those initiatives identified as priorities by the Academic Board.
    • Participate in Academic Board meetings and keep all records pertaining to such meetings.
    • Follow up on Academic Board recommendations and decisions and ensure implementation

    Qualification Required & Experience

    • Applicants for this position should have post graduate qualifications in their respective fields.
    • He/ She should have 10 years of post- qualification senior level experience as practioners in their fields and have considerable strategic, interpersonal and collegial skills and be able to function within the Higher Education Sector.
    • High- level analytical skills, business sense as well as a deep understanding and appreciation of the strategic and operational issues and challenges in top- level university management and administration are critical.
    • Such experience and capacity need not have gained in the university environment, but must reflect the requisite skills and knowledge. The ideal candidates must be performance driven and keen to achieve results.
    • The holder should have served on the relevant statutory university Boards and committees.
    • Interested applicants must have served as DR/Deputy Director in a university or analogous institution for a minimum of four (4) years.
