    Biomedical Technician x6

    Job Responsibilities 

    • Inspect the functional status of all equipment and provide a certificate to that effect and provide a certificate of Beyond Economic Repair for all equipment to be written off.
    • Confirm the status of the equipment in inventory for purposes of assuring end users as to whether the equipment, especially Operating Theatre equipment, can still be used or otherwise help address concerns raised by the Aspen OT Team, and provide documentary evidence of the same.
    • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance and calibration of all equipment installed including (but not limited to) operating theatre equipment, dental equipment, imaging equipment, X-ray machines, medical examination equipment, surgical equipment, solid waste shredders, and other medical equipment within UN & AMISOM medical facilities and camps in accordance with common engineering and applicable standard practices.
    • Prepare a master list of the spares and parts required for regular service, preventive and corrective maintenance
    • Schedule maintenance and repair services for medical equipment referenced above.
    • Training and mentoring services to users/hospital personnel in incident management (reporting & investigation), and in safe operation of medical equipment/devices.
    • Emergency response service for work related to equipment maintenance and repair works on short notice.
    • Equipment Operational Services (daily checks/monitoring operations and recording in log-books, emergency response and repairs on short notice).
    • Operate within the of your designated role, or in other roles as directed by Project Manager or designee.

    Job Requirement 

    • Minimum 3 years’ experience as Biomedical Technician.
    • Current certificate to practice or authority to practice or equivalent home country registration.
    • A valid home country professional license must be maintained at all times
    • Diploma/Degree in Biomedical Engineering.

    Respiratory Therapist x16

    Job Responsibilities 

    • Monitor patient physiological responses to therapy such as arterial blood gases, vital signs or blood chemistry, and lung function changes, and consulting with physicians if there are adverse reactions.
    • Set up and operate devices including therapeutic gas administration apparatus, mechanical ventilators, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators.
    • Provide emergency care, such as external cardiac massage, artificial respiration, or assistance with cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
    • Inspect, test, clean, and maintain respiratory therapy equipment to ensure it is functioning safely and efficiently.
    • Maintain charts that contain patient identification and therapy information.
    • Measure arterial blood gases, reading prescriptions, lung capacity, and reviewing other information to assess patient condition.
    • Relay blood analysis results to a physician.
    • Make emergency visits to resolve equipment problems when necessary.
    • Order equipment repairs when necessary.
    • Explain health care treatment procedures to patients to gain cooperation.
    • Check pulmonary function in patients.

    Job Requirement 

    • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
    • Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse within home country.
    • Current Respiratory Care Practitioner license to practice.
    • Completion of an accredited respiratory therapy program or technical college course for respiratory therapy.
    • Current unrestricted registration as a Respiratory Therapist within home country.
    • Current Advanced Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited through the AHA or equivalent and PHTLS/ITLS.

    Pharmacy Technician x6

    • Accept written prescriptions or refill requests from patients and evaluating information for completeness and accuracy.
    • Deliver quality customer service to patients, respond to inquiries, questions, or requests, and refer them to the pharmacist for medical information.
    • Verify the accuracy of patient information.
    • Count prescription medication, fill prescriptions, type and attach medication labels.
    • Perform inventory audits and purchasing supplies and medication.
    • Process patient insurance.

    Job Requirement 

    • Diploma: Graduation from a formal Pharmacy Technician training program.
    • Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
    • Experience: Actively practicing in the specialty with minimum experience of three (3) years.

    Pathology Technician x6

    • Assists in preparing and dissecting surgical specimens.
    • Prepares and select tissue samples for analysis.
    • Coordinates the acquisition of tissue specimens used for research purposes.
    • Supervises and train entry level resident physicians in pathology methodology and procedures under guidance and protocol parameters provided by medical professional staff.
    • Participates in the accessioning and labeling of specimens, specimen storage and disposal, and the maintenance of reagents and equipment.

    Infection Control Nurse x6

    • Gather and analyze infection data, facts and trends to other healthcare personnel.
    • Provided training and education to other medical professionals and civilians on prevention techniques.
    • Develop plans to prevent patients from spreading diseases throughout the hospital or other patient care facilities.

    Anesthetic Nurse x6

    • Examine the patients’ history for allergies or illnesses that would affect anesthesia.
    • Evaluate and prepare patients, provides education about surgery and recovery, and discuss the side effects of anesthesia with them.
    • Determine the amount and type of anesthesia needed for the patient and the best way to administer it.
    • Perform or evaluate the results of diagnostic tests such as radiographs (x-rays) and electrocardiograms (EKGs).
    • Manage patients’ airway or pulmonary status using techniques such as endotracheal intubation, mechanical ventilation, pharmacological support, respiratory therapy, and extubation.
    • Perform or manage regional anesthetic techniques such as local, spinal, epidural, caudal, nerve blocks and intravenous blocks.
    • Monitor patients’ vital signs and their dose of anesthesia during medical procedures.
    • Oversee patients’ safety during anesthesia recovery.
    • Prepare prescribed solutions and administer local, intravenous, spinal, or other anesthetics following specified methods and procedures.
    • Respond to emergency situations by providing airway management, administering emergency fluids or drugs, or using basic or advanced cardiac life support techniques.
    • Select, order, or administer anesthetics, adjuvant drugs, accessory drugs, fluids or blood products as necessary.
    • Perform some administrative duties, such as ordering anesthesia, training new staff, and overseeing department finances.

    Job Requirement 

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing.
    • Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse within home country.
    • At least 3 years’ continuous experience as Anesthetist Nurse.
    • Certifications or training related to anesthesia program.
    • Demonstrate sufficient recent clinical experience in the last 12 months commensurate with the role.
    • A valid Home Country License must be maintained at all times
