    Analyst

    Job Description

    • CrossBoundary Advisory is recruiting a full-time Analyst. We seek candidates with 1-3 years of relevant experience working in underserved markets, contacts across the region's financial services sector, and an understanding of the investment landscape. As an Analyst, you will evaluate investment opportunities, conduct macroeconomic markets assessments, and provide transaction support to both investors and capital seekers.

    Who You Are

    • Bachelor’s degree required
    • 1-3 years of relevant experience in investment banking, management consulting, private equity, or similar
    • Experience living and/or working in underserved markets required; experience in the region applied for highly preferred
    • High tolerance for ambiguity; able to operate effectively in a changing context
    • Strong quantitative skills and analytical abilities: can think clearly, structure problems logically, and then design and implement solutions that focus on the core issues
    • Familiarity with company fundraising process, including investor due diligence processes

    • Willing to take on new types of work, even without prior experience or direct supervision

    • Provide sector analysis of priority areas for investment

    Associate

    • CrossBoundary is an investment firm. As an Associate, you will be tasked with evaluating investment opportunities, conducting macroeconomic markets assessments, and providing transaction support to both investors and capital seekers. Associate candidates should have 3-5 years of experience working in high-caliber finance or consulting organizations and experience working in developing countries. Experience working in the region applied for will be regarded favorably.

    • Excellent presentation skills; ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse audiences
    • Strong sense of ownership and ability to lead projects and support and mentor more junior colleagues
    • Familiarity and comfort with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel

    The ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

    • 3+ years of experience in top tier banking, consulting, private equity, or similar
    • MBA or other advanced degrees will be regarded favorably
    • Familiarity with company fundraise process, including investor due diligence processes
    • Ability to build strong relationships with partners and colleagues in challenging environments
    • Experience working with a range of stakeholders (including private equity firms, Impact investors, Family offices, Development Finance Institutions, and development agencies) to support investments in high impact sectors
    • Experience working in the region applied for/Uganda will be regarded favorably

    Monitoring and Evaluations Specialist

    Job Description

    • CrossBoundary is recruiting a full-time Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist to join CrossBoundary in Ghana. As a member of the transaction team, you will actively contribute to a powerful intervention that has the potential for significant impact on investment into West Africa, in addition to building CrossBoundary’s long term presence in the region.
    • CrossBoundary is an investment firm. As a Monitoring and Evaluations Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating country level M&E activities, including capacity building of staff and partners, M&E systems development and management, evidence-based reporting and documentation of impact change stories, and ensuring projects meet the West African standard operating procedures for M&E. You will make use of tools that capture data to track regional progress, manage regional database and ensure timely and quality reporting for internal and external purposes.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Developing the monitoring and evaluation framework and associated tools for CrossBoundary’s mandates in Ghana
    • Overseeing monitoring and evaluations aspects of the implementation of CrossBoundary’s mandates in Ghana
    • Managing project performance and overseeing reporting of all project activities and results to key program stakeholders
    • Managing reporting facilitation, including:
    • KPI establishment, tracking, and reporting
    • Data analysis
    • Organize and lead performance plan review meetings for implementing partners
    • Conducting macroeconomic, regulatory, and operational assessments
    • Providing sector analysis of priority areas for investment monitoring
    • Managing numerous investor relationships
    • Develop links with academic research institutes
    • Manage the quality assurance on external and internal evaluations

    Qualifications

    The ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

    • 5+ years in top-tier banking, consulting, donor or implementation partnering
    • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’ or another advanced degree strongly desired
    • Experience working in developing countries
    • English business fluency with French as an advantage
    • Demonstrated leadership skills; preferably in fast-moving and complex environments
    • Excellent analytical ability and discipline; ability to think clearly, structure problems logically, and then design and implement solutions that focus on the core issue
    • Excellent quantitative skills; ability to apply analytical rigor to complex and uncertain tasks
    • Knowledge of donor finance and familiarity with project evaluation and monitoring techniques
    • Ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues in stressful environments
    • Excellent presentation skills; ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse audiences
    • Comfort with ambiguity; ability to operate effectively in a changing context
    • Willingness to work and live in a sometimes challenging environment
    • Knowledge of the West African investment landscape (or previous work experience in it)
