    Regional Category/Purchasing Supervisor

    About This Role:

    • To develop, implement, and continuously improve and execute Newmont Ghana’s purchasing strategy, policies and guidelines to drive shared goals and objectives across the entire Supply Chain and specifically for material-oriented categories and contracts.
    • To communicate the purchasing vision and build strong working relationships with internal client executives.
    • To enhance Newmont’s overall purchasing capability through continuous improvement and development of the organization. 
    • To lead the team in identifying and capturing new enterprise spend areas to add value and drive cost savings. 
    • Collaborate with Technical services to drive integrated value delivery and total cost of ownership model for the business e.g., Full potential. The role oversees all material procurement for all the regional mines and exploration projects. 
    • Act as key advisor to the departments regarding the procurement of goods, equipment and materials for the support of the African region's operations.
    • Actively demonstrate the Newmont values of Safety, Integrity, Sustainability, Inclusion and responsibility at all times.

    In This Role You Will:

    • Customer, Site and Business Planning Support
    • Interact and engage with customers on site.
    • Drive total cost of ownership model by ensuring active engagement and input from key end-users.
    • Key contact for quarterly annual business planning key commodities forecast.

    Goods and Services Procurement

    • Provide contract and commercial support at site and regional level.
    • Enhance Newmont’s overall purchasing capability through continuous improvement and development of the organization
    • Ensure strategic procurement of material such as heavy mining equipment, processing plant equipment, mobile equipment, fuel, cyanide, grinding media etc.
    • Develop and manage the execution of the annual Goods procurement portfolio.
    • Facilitate the development of supplier management plans to ensure continuous value delivery.
    • Led critical tenders as per the procurement stage process.

    Project Support

    • Support regional and global projects for completion of all first fill procurement activities in line with business readiness.

     
    Strategy Development

    Your Training, Skills & Experience Checklist:

    • Formal Qualification (including Professional Registrations):
    • A minimum of bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Construction Engineering, Quantity Surveying and Accounting or related field or equivalent experience.

    Senior Long Term Planning Lead - Underground

    ABOUT THIS ROLE:

    • To oversee the reserve reporting process for the underground mines in the region, coordinate projects and sites to confirm internal alignment with Newmont procedures and that they are completed on time. 
    • To provide mine designs, schedules and reports that comply with internal Newmont reserve reporting guidelines. 
    • To participate in the Long Term Planning process for the region focusing on underground (UG) projects and sites, and to provide Underground  planning scenarios that align with the goals of the process.

    IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

    • Information Management and Management Reporting
    • Oversee the reserve reporting process for the underground mines in the region, coordinate projects and sites to confirm internal alignment with Newmont procedures and are completed on time. 
    • For all reserve and resources provide analysis of costs and cut-off grades, mine designs, scheduling, cash flows, cost and productivity analysis, capital schedules documentation and reporting that comply with internal Newmont reserve reporting guidelines. 
    • Responsible for ensuring quality and accuracy of underground designs, coordinating reviews including site operations and engineering teams, Geotech, Hydrology and site management. 
    • Responsible for incorporating feedback from reviews into design work.

     
    Strategy / Planning Process 

    • Participate in the Long Term Planning process for the region focusing on the underground (UG) projects and sites.
    • Maintain financial and cost modelling tools to support long term planning work, financial valuations and M&A activities.
    • Incorporate site guidance into long term plans, challenge assumptions and KPI’s where needed to ensure quality plans.
    • Provide UG planning scenarios that align with the goals of the process, and work with project and site teams to complete this work. 
    • Gain support from the sites for recommended plans, work with sites to address issues and implement plans where needed.
    • Communicate risks and opportunities to sites and region.
    • Assist with the development of new tools as required.

     
    Financial Management

    • Provide project financials that follow Newmont standards.
    • Work with project directors to guarantee there are no gaps in financial analysis and cash flows. 
    • Lead execution of project financials. 
    • Certify compliance with Newmont standards. 
    • Remove roadblocks, work with project teams to guarantee that project financials are accurately reflective, and any potential issues/opportunities are brought to the project directors attention for resolution/communication.

    Relationship Management

    • Work with project teams to provide UG designs and schedules that align with stage gate requirements. 
    • Work with sites to improve planning and share best practices.
    • Mentor and coach open pit engineers across the region to improve mine planning processes.

    YOUR TRAINING, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE CHECKLIST:
