    Senior Data Scientist

    Description

    • We’re looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our Technology Department.
    • Data Science at M-KOPA covers a wide range of activities, from building predictive and explanatory models and communicating complex insights, to running experimental pilots and evaluating casual inference.
    • Your main objective will be to provide critical data insights and predictions that drive the business as well as contributing the team’s standards and vision.

    To achieve this, you’ll be expected to:

    • Develop a deep understanding of the business context and our data which contributes and translate to impactful, relevant outputs
    • Design models and analysis alongside associated business implementation in partnership with key stakeholders
    • Develop predictive models and analyses with a strong focus on reproducibility, accuracy and evaluation
    • Communicate analysis and drive improved decision making with the broader business in a straight-forward, clear manner
    • Contribute to company-spanning frameworks and tools for measuring business, credit and sales performance and evaluating business changes and pilots
    • Collaborate with senior business stakeholders on analytic methods, data-driven decision making
    • Provide support and mentorship to junior team members

    You Might Be A Good Fit If You…

    • Have a degree in computer science, mathematics or related quantitative field / demonstrated self-directed learning
    • Have 4 or more years’ experience in a role with a similar focus, plus 2+ years of predictive modeling experience preferred
    • Have experience in building end-to-end data products; including collaborating with stakeholders to scope requirements, extracting and transforming data, building and evaluating models/analyses and deploying these in repeatable and robust manner
    • Have advanced experience building predictive and explanatory models that solve specific business problems
    • Have advanced skills in Python or R, ideally Python
    • Have a strong ability to communicate technical details visually and in written form to broader stakeholders
    • Have a strong attention to detail and investigative nature to ensure error-free, high quality, reproducible analysis
    • Have experience working with automated systems to produce model outcomes with ongoing monitoring
    • Have experience with collaborativedata and software development via git and you’re comfortable in the command line
    • Have an interest in abstracting, generalizing and creating efficient, scalable processes that benefit the wider team
    • Have experience with one or more of the following types of modelling approaches; credit scoring models, cost sensitive learning, ARIMA and LSTM forecasting, is desirable but not essential.
    • Have experience with running operational experiments and evaluating casual inference is desirable but not essential.
    • Have experience with Microsoft Azure, similar cloud providers and tools are desirable but not essential
    • Have a strong economics or finance background

    Sales Executives - Dawhenya

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • Monitor and deliver set sales targets within the designated territory.
    • Achieve and surpass sales targets of M-KOPA products by developing local networks.
    • Uphold the brand values of M-KOPA, including ensuring the M-KOPA retail point standard and guidelines are adhered to.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Recruit, train, coach, mentor & supervise a field-based team of Direct Sales Representatives (DSR) to meet the set targets in line with M-KOPA business goals.
    • Keenly monitor and evaluate the performance of DSRs to meet the performance standards
    • Manage DSR inventory and resolve audit recommendations in line with M-KOPA audit resolution guidelines
    • Design Sales and Marketing Strategy for the team to ensure Weekly, Monthly, and Quarterly sales targets are reached.
    • Monitor and Analyze the performance of marketing campaigns
    • Report writing
