    Agent Development Associate

    Role Overview

    • The primary job of the Agent Development Associate is to support with the recruitment, training and supervision of field agents. Farmerline engages with skilled and passionate youth in operational regions to deliver services to farmers and other agriculture stakeholders. He/ She will work closely with the Agent Development Manager to design onboarding and training programs for Farmerline’s network of field agents. Primarily working with regional teams and business units to ensure that Field Agents get the needed resources, training, and support to effectively and efficiently perform their last mile assignments such as farmer engagement activities including but not limited to profiling, mapping, training and digitization.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist the recruitment and onboarding of Farmerline’s network of Field Agents
    • Develop and implement regional agent management plans and strategies
    • Establish a strong agent network capable of meeting project deliverables
    • Assist in rolling out agent certification program
    • Assist with the training and support of field agents to promote the right adoption of information services and high-quality inputs to farmers
    • Supervise and ensure all field agents collect high-quality data on all transactions and interactions with farmers and partners in near real-time using Mergdata.
    • Frequently conduct monitoring exercises to coach field agents with the needed skills and assist them produce high results on the field
    • Develop initiatives for high accountability among different agent types and conduct monthly performance reviews
    • Ensure timely payment of field agents and the management of field challenges
    • Implement strategies for establishing a strong bond among field agents highlighting the key values of Farmerline
    • Support with increasing agent satisfaction on the field by liaising with regional teams and other units
    • Tracking and driving measures of success such as task completion rate, enhanced talent pipeline, and agent retention
    • Any other duty assigned

    Required Qualifications

    • Working knowledge of Google Docs app and MS Office (Excel, word, PowerPoint.) and ability to adapt to new technology quickly and easily
    • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, development studies, agriculture, or related field.
    • 3+ years of progressive experience in project management, agriculture and social research, smallholder farmer engagement strongly preferred
    • Knowledge of the systemic challenges in agriculture value chains in Ghana, a passion for creating lasting solutions to them, and the ability to navigate farming communities.
    • High energy with a positive, customer-centric attitude
    • Extensive experience in rural engagement and data collection
    • Strong business analysis and financial management skills
    • Excellent oral communication, writing, and presentation skills
    • Ability to execute on multiple projects with extensive detail coordination

    Desirable

    • Ability to speak multiple Ghanaian languages (especially Twi and northern languages including Dagaare, Sisaali, Waali, Chakali and Birifor,Gurune (frafra), Nankani, Kassem, Taleni, Nadam, Kusal, Buili and Bisah) is an added advantage.
