    Barista

    Reports To

    • Food & Beverage Supervisor

    Experience Required

    • 2-3 years in Food & Beverage operations

    Education

    • Diploma in Hospitality with Barista training

    Key Responsibilities
    Beverage Preparation

    • Prepare hot and cold beverages including coffee, espresso drinks, blended coffees and teas
    • Make drinks according to company recipes and standards
    • Operate coffee equipment including espresso machines, grinders and brewers
    • Ensure quality and consistency in every beverage

    Customer Service

    • Take orders and offer menu recommendations
    • Note dietary restrictions and customizations
    • Build relationships with customers
    • Promote and recommend menu options

    Food Service

    • Prepare and serve soups, sandwiches and pastries
    • Monitor service standards for quality and consistency
    • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations
    • Maintain high standards of food presentation

    Operations Management

    • Work the point-of-sale system to complete transactions
    • Restock supplies including cups, lids, coffee beans, syrups and pastries
    • Assist with opening and closing duties
    • Assist in stock control, ordering and inventory management

    Cleanliness & Maintenance

    • Keep work environment and cafe seating area clean and organized
    • Clean countertops, coffee grinders, decanters and milk frothers
    • Maintain sanitary conditions throughout the coffee shop
    • Ensure equipment is properly maintained

    Requirements & Qualifications
    Education & Experience

    • Diploma in Hospitality with training in Barista operations
    • Minimum 2-3 years experience in Food & Beverage operations
    • Knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP and quality standards
    • Experience operating coffee equipment and POS systems
