    Consultant Project Officer

    The consultant is expected to work full-time as Project Manager and Senior Backstopper of the KfW-funded “Basic Education Program in Guinea” for 5-6 months with the following tasks:

    • Coordination of the backstopping team in Hamburg
    • Quality control of project implementation in the technical, procurement, financial management, monitoring and reporting to the lessor
    • Communication with the donor, the project team in Guinea and the National Planning Office in Guinea on all aspects of project management
    • Advise and support the project team in Guinea in accordance with donor guidelines in all areas of project management
    • Support and advice to the team management and the department in establishing a strategic partnership with the development banks

    Qualifications and skills required

    • Mastery of French required (speaking, reading and writing), fluency in German is highly preferred
    • Several years of professional experience (> 5 years) in the field of international cooperation with recognized expertise in the promotion of basic education
    • At least two years of experience in implementing projects abroad (preferably in the West and Central Africa region)
    • Strong conceptual, strategic and diplomatic skills in complex partnership contexts
    • High management skills and strong cooperation skills
    • Experience working with KfW (or other development banks) as a funder is a benefit
