About The Job

Job Purpose:

• To design and develop an ecosystem of data solutions that efficiently source, transform, manage and deliver reliable business and market intelligence to support apt decision-making. 
• Full automation and continuous improvement are expectation of the role. It will support the Analytics team and forms a crucial foundational layer.

Dimensions:

• Involves finding, organizing, cleaning and moving data
• Primary purpose will be on choosing the best data solutions for various challenges in the business and then implementing and maintaining these solutions

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

• Experience in mass data processing using Big Data Technologies like Apache Spark and the Hadoop eco-system.
• A good understanding of cloud computing technologies with experiences in Azure or AWS
• Experienced in the query and basic administration of relational databases (e.g. Oracle).
• Knowledge of Business Objects (BO) and other enterprise BI tools
• Knowledge of various ETL Data Warehouse Design, Set Up and Maintenance
• Experience in cloud data warehousing technologies  (eg. Azure Data Factory/Data Synapse, DataBricks, Snowflake, Google BigQuery)
• Knowledge in at least one programming language(e.g. Python, C#, Golang)
• API usage and integration skills (REST, OData, etc.)
• Experience with NoSQL databases an advantage

• At least 3 years work experience in a financial service, technology, or other fast-paced environment in a  relevant or similar industry
• A minimum of a first degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a relevant discipline
• Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and minimal supervision
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Key Result Areas:

• Data Management:
  • Development, maintenances and monitoring of Cloud and on-premise Data warehouses (EDW)
  • Find, organize, clean, extract, store, process and manage data from a variety of data Sources (ETL Processing)
  • Develop mass data processing solutions with machine learning algorithms.
  • Develop data processes for mining, production and data modelling
  • Recommend ways to improve data reliability, efficiency and quality
  • Conduct monthly solution reviews with Business partners and Technology to ensure quality of service delivery   remains within tolerance
  • Responsible for monitoring data system performance metrics
  • Investigate suitable self-service management information platforms and support the implementation
• Data Governance:
  • Ensure adherence to data governance methodologies and processes including access control, documentation, and other related tasks
  • Maintains repository of Master copies of all system documentation, management methods and standards
  • Ensure effective management of Data Dictionaries and other system documentation Reporting
  • Management of Enterprise data reporting solutions such as Business Objects (BO), Vision BI & Power BI
  • Creation or development and automation of Business data reporting
  • Understand the time value of data and ensure availability is at agreed levels
  • Implement system-enabled reporting calendar aimed at streamlining data flow from source system to report
  • Enforce the Service Level Agreement that governs source system to warehouse activity
  • Consistently review data feeds into metrics to ensure integrity
