    Disability Accessibility Officer (Mental Health)

    Descriptioin

    • Options Consultancy Services seeks a Disability Accessibility Officer in Ghana, who will be responsible for providing support to our communications manager to overcome daily barriers connected to mental health conditions or neurodiversity, and assist with planning and organising activities, as well as some basic communication tasks as directed by the communications manager.

    Responsibilities: 

    The Disability Accessibility Officer will:

    • Supporting challenges connected to Neurodiversity/Mental Health conditions in the workplace
    • Daily check-ins with the Communication Manager around priorities, emotional support check-ins and organisational productivity, including twice-daily check-ins while Comms Manager is on field assignments.
    • Support by researching the latest products, apps, tools, and coping methods tailored for mental health support / emotional regulation in the workplace and support to go through this together.
    • Assessing and monitoring mental health needs including checking adherence to medication for the Communication Manager (following agreed protocols).
    • Assisting with some communications and operations tasks when needed or directed by the Communications manager
    • Assist Communication Manager in preparing requests for activities as well as documentation for the retirement of funds
    • Supporting Communication Manager with flight bookings, vehicle rental, travel, and accommodation requirements for field activities.
    • Other office tasks may be required.

    Follow policies and procedures and regulations

    • Ensure that all work is aligned with the Programme’s Do No Harm, Safeguarding and Data Protection guidance, as well as Dignity at Work and Equality policies
    • In the spirit of teamwork, provide flexible support to colleagues across Options and the consortium

    Person specification: 

    • An experienced user/content creator for social media
    • Proven ability to work with people with disabilities, including people with mental health conditions
    • Experience with proofreading official documents diligently and with accuracy
    • Confidence in your ability to assess and de-escalate situations when behaviours of concern arise
    • Excellent communication and writing skills
    • Proven ability to work in a team
