Engineering Superintendent at Harlequin International (Gh) Ltd

Please find below job description:

•  Oversight responsibility of the day-to-day activities of the Hydraulics and Engineering workshops processes to assure that safety and best practices are maximized
•  Responsible for quoting workshop jobs (Hydraulics and Engineering) to customers
•  Estimating Engineering and Hydraulic repair requirements
•  Responsible for technical review of special tendering process for Engineering Scopes
•  Engage customers to clarify scope of work for Engineering and Hydraulic workshop jobs in a timely manner
•  Embarking on Customer Site Visits every month
•  Ensure monthly sales revenue targets are met
•  Regular customer visits to the mines to sell Harlequin’s services
•  Liaise with Process Control Manager, Workshop Manager and Procurement to ensure effective planning and coordination of resources required to complete all Engineering and Hydraulic workshop jobs in a timely manner
•  Assist Process Control and Procurement department to source resources and materials required to complete Engineering and Hydraulic jobs in a timely manner
•  Liaise with Process Control Manager, Workshop Manager to ensure that each stage of the production process is progressing on time, on budget and to the right quality standards
•  Liaise with Process Control Manager and Workshop Manager to ensure all jobs in Engineering and Hydraulics workshop are invoiced in a timely manner
•  Liaise with Process Control Manager and Workshop Manager to ensure regular update reports of Engineering and Hydraulic workshop jobs to Clients, Managing Director and Sales Team
•  Optimize, implement, and successfully manage production efficiency and quality standards
•  Review sketches & drawings of parts for manufacture and drawings for projects and customer specific job orders
•  Analyze and implement workflow improvements to include capabilities for growth
•  Develop and oversee implementation and administration of department policies, systems and procedures
•  Determine optimum staffing model for the various sections of the engineering and hydraulics department
•  Reviewing existing policies and planning how to improve integrated management systems (quality, health, safety, security, and environment)
•  Working closely with other managers and department supervisors
•  Other duties as may be assigned by the MD/CEO/Executive Directors

Also, please see below a list of minimum knowledge and skills required for the role:

•  Minimum of 10 years working with General engineering machining, Fabrication and Steel Erection and, Steel Mill Roll Re-cladding
•  Minimum of 10 Years working experience in workshop management
•  Fully conversant with engineering technical drawings and CAD programmes
•  Ability to communicate effectively at all workshop management levels.
•  Computer literate and numerate.
•  Attention to detail and focus on quality
•  Team player and leader / motivator.
•  Engineering Cost Evaluation and analysis
•  Experience in strategic planning and execution
