    How can you make a difference?

    • The Nutrition Manager supports the Chief Health and Nutrition in managing the section, contributing to innovation and knowledge management. S/He is responsible for developing, preparing, and managing complex, key, and integrated nutrition programmes. The Nutrition Manager provides authoritative technical guidance and management support throughout the programming processes to facilitate the administration and achievement of concrete and sustainable results in maternal, infant, and child nutrition programmes/projects.

    Summary of key functions: 

    • Management and advisory support to the Chief
    • Programme development and planning
    • Programme management, monitoring and delivery of results
    • Advisory services and technical support
    • Advocacy, networking and partnership building
    • Innovation, knowledge management and capacity building

    To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

    • An advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in one of the following fields is required:  nutrition, public health, nutritional epidemiology, global/international health and nutrition, health/nutrition research, policy and/or management, health sciences, nutritional epidemiology, or another health-related science field.
    • A minimum of eight (8) years of relevant professional experience in a developing country context in one or more of the following areas is required: nutrition, public health, nutrition planning and management, or maternal, infant, and child health/nutrition care.
    • Demonstrated experience in managing health/nutrition teams and leading nutrition programs is required.
    • Demonstrated experience in advancing public finance management, domestic financing for children on nutrition is required.
    • Demonstrated experience in leading & managing data & research on child nutrition is required.
    • Demonstrated experience of working on nutrition policy  (Maternity Act, BMS code, Regulation of unhealthy food, etc.) including analysis towards policy development is required.
    • Previous experience in supporting government-led health & nutrition systems including information management systems at the decentralized level is required.
    • Demonstrated experience in community engagement for improved nutrition practices and demand for services is required.
    • Previous experience in workforce strengthening is highly desirable.
    • Experience in partnership building with the private sector is highly desirable.
    • Experience in health/nutrition programme/project development and management in a UN system agency or organization is an asset.
    • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language or a local language is an asset.
