    Financial Accountant

    About The Job

    Summary:

    • The Finance Accountant is responsible for ensuring accuracy and integrity of the Company’s financial records. 
    • He is responsible for all financial activities relating to the maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger, and the resulting managerial reports and financial statements. 
    • Responsible for all aspects of accounting, including cashflow forecast, tax and account reconciliations. 
    • The role will provide meaningful thought leadership related to valuation and financial modeling activities within the business by analysing the ROI (Return on Investment) for all new and current products. 
    • The incumbent will assist in budgeting and forecasting, drafting, and coordinating reports, and tracking information on industry, customers, and economic developments.

    Essential Duties:

    • Manage all bookkeeping to conduct monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing, and ensure the accuracy and efficiency of IFRS reporting.
    • Manage bookkeeping and prepare the accounting close for the Company, which includes review and posting of general journal entries and preparation of account and balance sheet reconciliations and financial analysis.
    • Prepare the Company’s annual financial statements applying the provisions of the IFRSs.
    • Remain current regarding all accounting developments relevant to the Company's financial reporting and managing the implementation of any new pronouncements. Support (as required) the Company with accounting policy analysis and advice.
    • Prepare 13 weeks and 12 months rolling cash forecasts.
    • Monthly preparation and coordination of filing VAT and withholding taxes returns.
    • Build financial models using historical data and providing forecasts based on various industry-related operating metrics of commercial proposals, business development opportunities, and potential acquisitions.
    • Conduct Scenario Analysis based on macro and micro factors that will help in accessing risk
    • Ensure accurate modeling of allocated portfolios and developing new transaction models and enhance the existing models.
    • Coordinates all tax related activities between Kofa and our tax consultants.
    • Be a point of contact to the Consultants in terms of information flow.
    • Review of tax computations, especially during filing of annual tax returns.
    • Provide any other support and analysis as may be required.
    • Manage all customer pricing reviews and updates based upon agreed models
    • Support fund raising activities such as managing a data room and all required due diligence
    • Manage all reporting to investors and other funders on a timely schedule
    • Prepare consolidated accounts for the group of companies, managing the relevant FX rates in line with monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements
    • Prepare monthly and quarterly investor updates
    • Oversee all internal compliance and other company policies

    Competencies:

    • Working knowledge of IFRS
    • Strong relationship-development skills resulting in long term mutually beneficial client relationships.
    • Self-motivated; Able to work both independently to complete tasks and respond to department requests, as well as collaborating with others to utilize resources and knowledge of others in identifying quality solutions.
    • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office suite, particularly Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Strong organization, planning and project management skills; ability to prioritize tasks for both self and team to meet business requirements and deadlines.
    • Strong leadership skills: Ability to drive and motivate self to achieve results within the department.
    • Ability to work in a time-sensitive and high-volume environment
    • Ability to drive work both independently toward the successful attainment of department goals and project completion dates, and as part of a team to leverage input and knowledge base of others within the company in providing well rounded and thoughtful information and solutions
    • Ability to identify key contacts for follow up; excellent ability to communicate project and status updates to team and cross-functionally to ensure understanding.
    • Good strategic and problem-solving skills to effectively influence decision making in key negotiations.

    Education And Experience:

    • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting and/or related field
    • Qualified Chartered Accountant is required
    • Previous supply chain experience is preferred
    • 5+ years of experience in finance, accounting, reporting, business planning and financial analysis.
    • Experienced in advanced Excel is an added advantage.
    • Good accounting knowledge of income statement, balance sheet and statement of cash flows required
