    Immigration Liaison Assistant- Immigration Enforcement International

    Jobs Description

    • Manage the team email inbox including responding to, actioning and referring on emails as appropriate;
    • Maintain risk databases, including substantial data entry and related background research;
    • Prepare statistics and reports;
    • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including Embassy colleagues, airlines and local Law Enforcement across the Africa region;
    • Organise regional travel, training sessions and internal/external meetings in consultation with the ILO/M.

    Requirements/Skills

    • Proficiency in English
    • Previous experience of working in an office environment in a support role performing a wide range of administrative tasks;
    • Previous experience in engaging with stakeholders, customers and partners at all levels;
    • Experience of working in an area with a high level of personal responsibility and track record of being accountable for own actions / decisions;
    • IT literacy, a good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point is essential;
    • Ability to work effectively within a small team;
    • Ability to process and understand data and information, turning these into concise and accurate reports;
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; confidence in dealing with government officials at all levels;
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision and to prioritise workloads where required;
    • Ability to respect the confidentiality of work issues and understand the personal and professional consequences of lapses in security;
    • Flexibility. Occasionally the position may require the job holder to work extended hours or work flexibly, sometimes at short notice;
    • Able to successfully pass security clearance procedures.
    • Previous experience of working in a law enforcement or intelligence environment/working in similar position or previous relevant experience;
    • Basic knowledge of UK and Ghana government/civil service structures;
    • Previous experience or knowledge of the travel industry, aviation and/or security sectors.
