Job Summary:

• The IT Assistant will provide support in the IT Department by analyzing data to recommend improvements to existing systems and processes.
• He/she will be setting up new computers, networks, and software for new employees, report challenges to superiors and recommend viable solutions to varied IT challenges.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Installing operating systems and other computer software applications on new computers
• Providing IT support to IT staff by answering phones, processing paperwork, and responding to user requests
• Coordinating with other departments to ensure that all IT technology and infrastructure is working properly.
• Collecting, analyzing, and storing data for use in reports
• Assisting with computer network security by scanning for vulnerabilities and viruses
• Providing technical support for computer hardware and software issues
• Provide administrative support by preparing reports, monitoring email and tickets, Maintain files for network documentation, inventory, and topology as directed by the team
• Order supplies, parts, replacement equipment, cables
• Physically installing network equipment, running cables, moving equipment, labeling devices/cables
• Logging, troubleshooting, and resolving help desk tickets

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s Degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or any other related discipline from a recognized university
• Minimum of 1-2 years’ post National Service experience in similar role in a global trading company or from a manufacturing background.
• Web development experience in either HTML, CSS, JS, Java and/or .Net will be an added advantage.
• Familiar with server hardware, software installation, and maintenance, in coordination with corporate IT processes and procedures.
• Familiar with network implementation and maintenance, in coordination with Corporate IT practice
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and HTML and the ability to work remotely to resolve challenging IT challenges.
• Clear attention to detail, ability to assist in resolving other IT related issues, and willingness to learn and take initiative.
