Leasafric has since then been running an Asset Finance business using the technique of finance leasing.

    Legal Officer

    About the job

    We are looking to hire a Legal Officer to deal with all legal aspects of equipment leasing transactions with the Agriculture and Healthcare sectors, and with other legal matters for Leasafric as may be required.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepare the contract documents for all newly-approved leasing transactions with the Agriculture and Healthcare sector. These contract documents include a Finance Lease Agreement with the customer; a Sale-Purchase Agreement with the equipment supplier; and documents confirming delivery of the leased equipment.
    • Manage any legal action needed when a customer or supplier is in breach of its contract with Leasafric, including repossession on leased equipment from a defaulting customer and any needed Court action.
    • Be aware of all legal and regulatory matters which could affect Leasafric, the Agriculture and Healthcare sectors, or any of its leasing customers in those sectors. Inform Leasafric management in a timely faction of any legal risks which may be identified.

     

    Qualifications

    Qualified applicants will have:

    • Ghanaian citizenship
    • University Diploma in Law or its equivalent.
    • At least five years’ experience providing legal advice to a bank or credit institution in Ghana involving credit to businesses. This experience could be by employment in a legal position with a bank or credit institution, or by experience as external legal counsel.
    • Ideally this experience will include taking legal action to recover defaulted loans and exercising rights to foreclose on collateral, including action in Court.
    • Experience with leasing transactions is not required.
