    Marine Manager

    General Duties:

    The purpose of this role and its’ associated accountabilities include but are not limited to

    • Providing marine subject matter expert advice to support the Marine Team Leads in resolving challenges and conflicts to achieve a win-win outcome benefiting the holistic Organisation.
    • Driving and embedding a strong EHS culture across the entire Marine Team, and in particular amongst Marine Team Leads (direct reports).
    • Encouraging the timely collation and analysis of Marine Team data to support continuous improvement within their span of control & delivery
    • Developing and nurturing a sense of “One Team, One Goal” across their immediate direct reports, and the Marine Organisation in general.
    • Developing and encouraging a program of cross team skill sharing to improve the concept of internal team support, flexibility, and coherence.
    • Developing and expanding Marine Team members’ individual skills and competencies to support Marine Team flexibility across disciplines  
    • Developing a competency matrix for individual Marine Lead roles, with an associated, derivative assessment program to measure skill levels.
    • Develop systems and processes that contribute towards and encourage a culture of “continuous improvement” amongst all of their direct reports.

    Operational Skill    

    • Offshore support Vessel Operations                 
    • Offshore Export Terminal Operations                
    • Offshore Project & Construction Activities    
    • Marine technical vocabulary  

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of College education
    • Master Mariner Class 1
    • Additional vocational qualifications beneficial, but not essential

    Experience:

    • Minimum five (5) years’ seagoing experience as an OOW onboard modern, dynamically positioned, offshore support vessels
    • At least three (3) of those years in the rank of Master 
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in operating / managing offshore oil terminals 
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in managing multi-cultural, high performing Teams in remote locations
    • Used to working in performance and target driven environments
